The situation in Hormavu is critical
after heavy rains caused ground floor houses to be flooded. Furniture, electronic equipment and household goods were destroyed. People were forced to leave their homes by wading through knee-deep water. Traffic was disrupted due to waterlogging on roads in the area and vehicles were seen submerged.
The city’s drainage system failed
due to sudden heavy rains. Many roads turned into drains, affecting the daily life of the common people. The speed of public transport also slowed down and passengers remained stranded.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rain in several states including South Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya and Tamil Nadu. Heavy thunderstorms and rain are likely to occur in Bengaluru and surrounding areas between 3 pm and 1 am. IPL match also cancelled
The IPL match was cancelled due to rain on Saturday. This match was to be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The practice sessions of both the teams were also affected due to the rain. RCB practiced from 2 pm to 5 pm. KKR started practice after 5 pm but had to finish it within 90 minutes.
