Now it is estimated that the temperature in Delhi may reach 45 degrees in the next 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has also issued an orange alert regarding the heatwave. The Meteorological Department has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ in Delhi for the next two days and has asked people to be cautious. However, the Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Delhi after June 12.

Red alert in Rajasthan

On the rising temperatures across the country, IMD scientist Naresh Kumar said, ‘There has been a lack of thunderstorms in the last few days, along with other favourable meteorological conditions – such as the formation of an anti-cyclonic circulation over northwest India – and this has led to temperatures rising above 45 degrees Celsius in the region. Currently, heatwave conditions prevail over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, northern Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. We have issued a red alert for Rajasthan due to these extreme temperatures.’

There will be intense heat for the next two days

According to IMD scientist Naresh Kumar, ‘Severe heat conditions are expected to persist over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, northern Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan for the next three days, while an orange alert has been issued for Punjab and Haryana. These areas are not only experiencing intense heat during the day, but also abnormally high temperatures at night, which we classify as ‘hot night conditions’. Additionally, we have issued a three-day warning for Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.’

Know when it will rain heavily
