2. Salary and Benefits: The ₹1.25 Lakh Package

Upon commissioning as a Sub-Lieutenant (Pay Level 10), officers receive a highly competitive package.

  • Starting Basic Pay: ₹56,100 (Scale: $₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500$)

  • Military Service Pay (MSP): ₹15,500 per month.

  • Monthly Gross Salary: Approximately ₹1,25,000 per month (including DA, HRA, and Transport Allowance).

  • Additional Allowances: * Pilot/NAOO Allowance: ₹31,250 per month.

    • Submarine Allowance: ₹31,250 per month.

    • Siachen Allowance: Up to ₹42,500 (if posted in Siachen).

3. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • General Service/Technical: BE/B.Tech in any/relevant discipline with minimum 60% marks.

  • Logistics: BE/B.Tech (any stream) OR MBA (1st Class) OR B.Sc/B.Com with PG Diploma in Supply Chain/Finance.

  • Final Year Students: Candidates in their final year of engineering are eligible to apply, provided they complete their degree with 60% marks before January 2027.

Age Limit (Born Between)

  • GS (X)/Hydro/Technical: 2nd Jan 2002 to 1st July 2007.

  • Pilot/NAOO: 2nd Jan 2003 to 1st Jan 2008.

  • ATC/Education: 2nd Jan 2002 to 1st Jan 2006.


4. Selection Process: No Written Exam

The Navy follows a merit-based shortlisting process for this entry:

  1. Shortlisting: Based on normalized marks in the qualifying degree (BE/B.Tech/MA/M.Sc).

  2. SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a 5-day Service Selection Board (SSB) interview (Stage I & II).

  3. Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB undergo a rigorous medical check-up.
