LPG Price 1 May 2025: On May 1, the commercial cylinder in Kolkata has now become Rs 1851.50 instead of Rs 1868.50. In Delhi, a 19 kg LPG cylinder will now be available for Rs 1747.5. In Chennai, it will be available for Rs 1906.50 instead of Rs 1921.50.
Indian Oil has updated the rates of LPG gas. At the same time, today 19 kg commercial cylinders have become cheaper. The rate of commercial cylinder has been reduced by up to Rs 17. Today, on May 1, the same commercial cylinder in Kolkata has now become Rs 1851.50 instead of Rs 1868.50.
In Mumbai, the price of this cylinder has now become Rs 1699 instead of Rs 1713.50 and in Chennai it has become Rs 1906.50 instead of Rs 1921.50. In Delhi, it will now be available for Rs 1747.50. Today, on May 1, 2025, domestic LPG cylinders will be available in Delhi for Rs 853, in Kolkata for Rs 879, in Mumbai for Rs 852.50 and in Chennai for Rs 868.50.
The rates of domestic LPG gas were updated on 8 April. Then the government had increased the price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder by ₹ 50. This increase happened after almost a year. The price of commercial LPG cylinder was changed on 1 April. In Delhi, the 19 kg LPG cylinder became cheaper by 41 rupees and now costs 1762 rupees and today on 1 May, the rate has been reduced.
LPG cylinder is available ₹ 300 cheaper
There are a total of 32.9 crore LPG connections in the country. Out of these, 10.33 crore are under the Ujjwala scheme, where the poor get cylinders for ₹ 300 less. In the southern states (like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh), only 10% are beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme because state schemes are already running.
Subsidy status: In the budget for 2025-26, the government has allocated ₹11,100 crore for LPG subsidy. Last year (2022-23), ₹22,000 crore was given to oil companies as they were selling cylinders at a loss.
