You can apply for passport online from the comfort of your home. For this, you have to visit the official website of Passport Seva https://passportindia.gov.in . Go there and click on ‘New User/Register Now’. Then complete the registration by filling your name, date of birth, mobile number and email ID. After this, log in to the portal with the user ID and password.
After logging in, click on the ‘Apply for fresh Passport’ option. Then fill in your name, address and other required information and click on submit. After this, you will see the option of ‘Pay and Schedule Appointment’. By clicking on this, you can schedule an appointment at your nearest Passport Seva Kendra.
This is what you will have to pay…
After taking the appointment, you will get the payment option through net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI. If you are applying for a regular passport, you will have to pay a fee of up to Rs 1500. For an instant passport, you will have to pay additional money. After completing the payment, you will get a receipt, which you will have to download.
