Today is the last day of the month of April and a new month will start from tomorrow. Like every month, May (May 2025) is also going to start with many big changes, whose effect can be seen on every home and every pocket. The changes (Rule Change From 1st May) to be implemented from 1st May 2025 include rules ranging from LPG gas cylinder prices to ATM withdrawals. Let us know about 5 such big changes in detail…
First change – LPG prices
Like every month, on the first day of May, oil market companies are going to revise the prices of LPG gas. New rates of LPG cylinder will be released on 1 May. Let us tell you that earlier last month, while the price of 19 kg LPG cylinder was reduced, in the first week itself, the government shocked the general public on the prices of LPG and the price of 14 kg domestic cylinder was increased by Rs 50. In such a situation, people’s eyes are on LPG price on the first date.
Second change – ATF-CNG-PNG prices
Along with the revision of LPG gas cylinder prices, oil marketing companies also change the price of aviation fuel i.e. air turbine fuel (ATF) on the first of every month. Any increase or decrease in the price of ATF affects the expenses of air travelers. Along with this, changes can also be seen in the prices of CNG and PNG (CNG-PNG Price) on May 1.
Third change – ATM withdrawal
If you use an ATM machine to withdraw cash, then it is going to be expensive for you from May 1, 2025. The Reserve Bank (RBI) recently allowed the increase in fees on the proposal of the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI). In such a situation, from the first date, if customers withdraw money from a bank ATM of another network instead of their home bank’s ATM, then they will have to pay a charge of Rs 19 instead of Rs 17 on every transaction. Apart from this, a fee of Rs 7 will be charged instead of Rs 6 for checking the balance from another bank’s ATM.
Many big banks have also started giving information about the charges levied on transactions after the free limit on their website. According to the HDFC Bank website, the ATM transaction fee of Rs 21 + tax will now be increased to Rs 23 + tax from May 1, 2025 for transactions exceeding the Free Transaction Limit. At the same time, a fee of Rs 23 will be charged on cash withdrawal from PNB and IndusInd Bank ATMs.
Fourth change –
The fourth change in the rules of railway ticket booking from May 1, 2025 is related to the Indian Railways. Actually, changes are being made in the rules of railway ticket booking and now waiting tickets will be valid only in general coaches. Meaning you cannot travel in sleeper coach with a waiting ticket. At the same time, the advance reservation period has been reduced from 120 days to 60 days.
Fifth change – RRB scheme will be implemented
Another big change is going to happen on the first day of May. Actually, from May 1, 2025, ‘One State-One RRB’ scheme is going to be implemented in 11 states of the country. Under this, all the regional rural banks in every state will be combined together to form a big bank. This will make banking services even better and customers will get more facilities than before. This change can be implemented in other states including UP, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, MP.
