Getting food and goods delivered to our homes is becoming more and more of a competitive issue for companies. American company Amazon, which is already into e-commerce services, has now entered the fast delivery service space in the country.

Its service has started in the national capital Delhi. After this, you can get your goods delivered within 10 minutes on Amazon Now, like other top fast commerce platforms in the country – Zepto, Instamart, Swiggy and Blinkit. Earlier, a successful pilot project was run in Bengaluru last month.

Competition will intensify in fast service

Till now, after buying any item from Amazon, it used to take one to two days to reach home. In such a situation, with the entry of Amazon Now in the fast service, the competition will intensify in the coming days. In June, e-commerce company Amazon launched its fast delivery service in Bengaluru. Now it has started it first from West Delhi, which will be launched in the entire city.

Service will start soon in entire Delhi

In an interview to the Economic Times, Amazon India Vice President (Operations) Abhinav Singh said that the service has been launched in a large part of Delhi and the network is expanding very quickly. Soon it will be launched in the rest of the national capital Delhi as well.

It is worth noting that last month Amazon announced an investment of $2000 crore to strengthen its delivery service in India. After this, Amazon is pushing to open a large number of dark stores across the country. These are warehouses that are built inside the city, so that the delivery of orders can be done easily and quickly.

Job in Amazon: American multinational company Amazon has made it mandatory for its employees to work from the office for five days from January. At the same time, employees willing to work from home have been asked to find another job.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) CEO Matt Garman has sternly told employees that those who do not agree with this change are free to look for other job opportunities. In a company-wide meeting, Garman said that Amazon considers personal collaboration essential to promote innovation and this move will help achieve the company’s ambitious goals.

At the same time, for those employees who are not interested in working from office, he said that they can find jobs for themselves in other companies.

Good work personal contribution

Speaking to news agency Reuters, Garman said that if there are people who don’t work well or don’t want to work in that environment, that’s fine – there are other companies around. He said that I didn’t mean any negativity. Rather, I believe that Amazon’s best work comes from personal collaboration. When we really want to innovate on interesting products and haven’t seen the ability to do so if we aren’t in person.

He has claimed that most employees are in favor of work from office. He says that out of ten employees he spoke to, nine were in favor of it. However, many Amazon employees have expressed disappointment. They say that making work from office mandatory for all five days increases unnecessary travel time and stress. While there is no clear evidence that this improves productivity.

I need to come to the office for just three days

Till now, Amazon employees were required to come to the office and work only three days a week. However, many employees oppose this policy as well. Recently, CEO Andy Jassy had said that it was mandatory for Amazon to work from office for five days.

At the same time, there are many employees who have failed to come to the office even for three days a week, they have been asked by the company to resign voluntarily and they have even been removed from the company’s system.

Ends Work from Home: E-commerce giant Amazon has announced a new policy for its employees. The company has announced to stop the work from home facility for its employees and has asked everyone to return to the office.

According to The Guardian report, from next year it will be mandatory for employees to come to the office at least five days a week. This new working policy of the company will come into effect from January 2, 2025.

CEO Andy Jassy sent a memo

Giving information to the employees on this matter, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy has sent a memo. In this, he has written that we have decided that we will make coming to the office as before the beginning of Covid. Along with this, he said that if we look at the last five years, it is known that there are many benefits of staying in the office together.

The company therefore took this decision

CEA Andy Jassy believes that working in the office is very beneficial for both the employees and the company. He said that if we talk about the last 15 months, my belief in the office has become stronger. In the memo sent to his employees, he said that we have seen that it is very easy for employees to learn by coming to the office. This gives them good practice and our office and learning culture becomes stronger. This helps people learn better by working with each other and it is also very effective for invention. Teams are able to work with each other more effectively and people get more benefit from this.

New rules will be implemented from next year

Earlier, Amazon had asked employees to come two days a week, which has now been increased to five days. Even after the implementation of this rule, employees can demand work from home under certain circumstances. But, this option will not be given to senior team leaders. It will be mandatory for every employee to come to the office five days a week after January 2.

It is worth noting that during the Corona epidemic, the culture of work from home has increased in the country and the world. For the last four years, companies have been giving the option of work from home to employees, but now many companies have decided to withdraw this decision.

Layoffs: At present there is a huge shortage of jobs in India. Apart from this, on the other hand, companies here are firing people. Veteran e-commerce company Amazon is laying off people working in India. Explain that the company is engaged in the process of retrenchment of about 500 employees in the country. It was announced by Amazon CEO Andy Jassy at the end of March, affecting 9000 employees of this company worldwide.

Amazon will remove 18 thousand employees

Seller onboarding function has been discontinued in Kochi and Lucknow. Although Amazon’s sources have not given any reaction on this. Amazon is laying off employees for the second time in recent months. In the beginning of this year, the company had said that about 18,000 employees would be laid off. In November 2022, it was reported that Amazon would eliminate many jobs from India under its global plan.

Amazon closed many of its businesses in India

Amazon is still growing in the company. One of its largest sellers, Appario, is transferring inventory to a new seller to comply with regulations in India. Last year, Amazon had shut down several businesses including its food, delivery, edtech and wholesale distribution in India.

[web_stories title=”true” excerpt=”false” author=”false” date=”false” archive_link=”false” archive_link_label=”” circle_size=”150″ sharp_corners=”false” image_alignment=”left” number_of_columns=”1″ number_of_stories=”4″ order=”DESC” orderby=”post_title” view=”carousel” /]

Layoffs continue in Amazon

Let us tell you that in the last January, the company had laid off employees in many of its offices including Gurugram, Bengaluru. Most of the retrenchments were done from loss-making departments. Due to the economic recession, there has been a stir in most of the IT companies. Due to the fear of global recession, many other companies are also engaged in retrenchment of their employees.

Modi government has issued new guidelines to ban fake reviews and paid reviews. Under the new guidelines , a fine of up to 10 lakh can be imposed on companies found guilty.

These new guidelines for e-commerce companies will be applicable from 25 November. The purpose of these new rules is to clamp down on fake and paid reviews. After their implementation, e-commerce companies will no longer be able to get fake and paid reviews done.

Customers will be helped to buy the right product

Under the rules issued by the government on Monday, now paid reviews will have to be marked separately. This will help the customers. On the basis of consumer reviews, customers will be able to buy the right product. It has been agreed to implement the guidelines in e-commerce companies. Let us tell you that the guidelines are not mandatory right now. However, soon the guidelines will be made mandatory. Under the guidelines, if the companies do not agree, then strict action will be taken against the companies. This action will be taken under the Consumer Protection Act.

According to the rules, this matter will come under Unfair Trade Practice. Under this, there will be a provision to impose penalty on the companies. Companies can be fined up to Rs 10 lakh.

Let us tell you that due to such fake reviews, there have been cases related to influencing the customers, where they took the loss by buying the wrong product relying on the review. With the new guideline, it will be expected that people will be able to avoid such fake reviews in future.

Companies like Amazon, Flipkart have to be careful

The purpose of these guidelines is to protect the interests of the consumer and to bring out the correct information about a product. So that he can take the best decision regarding the purchase of goods. The scope of these guidelines will include positive reviews by companies for their products as well as negative reviews of other company’s products. With this step of the government, action will be taken against companies like Zomato, Swiggy, Naeca, Amazon and Flipkart.

Explain that e-commerce companies also give reviews of customers who have bought and are using that product along with any product. Their aim is to give correct information about the product to the customer. However, to increase sales, many times companies ask selected customers to write positive reviews for their products by giving them gifts etc.
