RBI MPC Meeting: Many times bank customers transfer money to the wrong account while transferring money online through RTGS and NEFT. But soon such mistakes made by bank customers will be reduced and fraud will also be curbed.

The Reserve Bank of India has decided to start the Real Time Gross Settlement System and National Electronic Funds Transfer so that before executing the transaction, the funds remitter i.e. the person transferring the money will be able to verify the name of the receiver i.e. the beneficiary account holder. RBI has decided to start the beneficiary account name look-up facility.

UPI and IMPS have the facility of beneficiary verification

Currently, whenever money is transferred through UPI or Immediate Payment Service (IMPS), the Remitter of Funds i.e. the one who is transferring the money has the option to verify the name of the receiver or beneficiary before making the payment transaction. But this facility was not available in RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement System) or NEFT (National Electronic Funds Transfer) system.

Verification of beneficiary will be possible in RTGS-NEFT

In his address after the Monetary Policy Committee meeting, Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das said, now it is proposed to start a facility similar to UPI and IMPS (Immediate Payment Service) for transferring funds through Real Time Gross Settlement System and National Electronic Funds Transfer. The RBI Governor said that, after the introduction of this facility, remitters will be able to verify the name of the account holder before transferring funds through RTGS or NEFT. This will reduce the chances of crediting funds to the wrong account and will also curb fraud.

Nirmala Sitharaman To Banks: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has given a new order to banks and financial institutions. This order is for crores of customers associated with banks and financial institutions.

In the order given by the Finance Minister, it was asked to ensure that all their customers nominate their successor. This will help in reducing the unclaimed money amount. This order of the Finance Minister comes after the step taken by the RBI recently when the central bank had launched a portal to identify the amount of thousands of crores of rupees lying unclaimed in the banks.

Write the name of the successor and also give the address

Sitharaman said at the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) here, ‘I want the banking system, financial ecosystem, mutual funds, share market, everyone to keep in mind that when a customer transacts money. So organizations have to think about the future and decide where they (customers) nominate their successor, give their name and address.

35,000 crores unclaimed

According to a report, there is an unclaimed amount of more than Rs 35,000 crores in the banking system. While such total money is being told to be more than one lakh crore rupees. Sitharaman also said that ‘tax haven country’ and ’round tripping’ of money are a threat to the responsible financial ecosystem. RBI had also launched the Udgam Portal (UDGAM) to safely return this money to the customers and their heirs.

The purpose of launching this portal was to find out the unclaimed money deposited in banks for a long time. Through the portal launched for the convenience of the public, it will be easy to find the unclaimed amount deposited in different banks. On the portal launched by RBI recently, SBI, PNB, Central Bank of India, Dhanlaxmi Bank Ltd, South Indian Bank Ltd, Information about unclaimed deposits is available in DBS Bank India Ltd and Citi Bank.

The post Bank Customers: Big news!

Banks Privatization AIBOC said that since nationalization in 1969 public sector banks have played a major role in financial inclusion and attracting savings.

Privatization is under threat on government banks . This is to say of All India Bank Officers Confederation (AIBOC), which is the union of bank officers. Union believes that public sector banks have played an important role in removing economic discrimination in the society, yet there is a danger of privatization of public sector banks.

On the occasion of 55th Bank Nationalization Day, All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC) said that public sector banks have played a major role in financial inclusion and attracting savings since their nationalization in 1969. Key’s. AIBOC General Secretary Rupam Roy said that the sword of privatization is hanging over public sector banks. He said that this is a fight of ideology which can be overcome only by supporting such an ideology which cares for the interests of the larger population.

Rupam Roy said that since nationalization, public sector banks have been providing funds to agriculture, MSMEs, education and infrastructure. The All India Bank Officers Confederation said that public sector banks have worked to promote economic development through their services, as well as their role in providing employment to crores of people has been a pillar.

Rupam Roy said that the government is the largest shareholder in public sector banks and the government is the biggest beneficiary of the dividends received from the profits of public sector banks. He told that in SBI there are 1900 customers per employee while in HDFC Bank this number is 530 and in Axis Bank it is 325. Before 2017, there used to be 27 public sector banks in the country. Whose number has come down to 12 after the merger. The government is pursuing the target of privatization of two national banks.

The post Bank Privatization: Big news for this bank customers! the threat of privatization is hovering over public sector banks first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

State Bank of India ( SBI ) has launched the YONO app with new features. Through the YONO application, SBI has offered users of all banks to take advantage of the cardless cash facility. Through the YONO app, now bank customers will be able to scan and pay faster through UPI. Whereas, without entering PIN or without credit-debit card, you will be able to take advantage of the facility of cash withdrawal.

SBI has re-launched its digital banking application ‘YONO for Every Indian’ on Sunday by completely revising it. Through YONO (You Only Need One), bank customers will be able to get the facility of Unified Payments Interface facilities like scan and pay, payment through contact list, money request etc.

YONO has more than 60 million registered users since its inception in 2017. In FY23, 78.60 lakh savings accounts have been opened digitally through YONO in SBI. SBI said that the modern version of the YONO app will empower customers of other banks to embark on the YONO journey, thereby encouraging them to be a part of the ever-growing SBI family.

SBI also launched Interoperable Cardless Cash Withdrawal (ICCW) facilities which will be available to customers of SBI and other banks as well. Customers can withdraw cash from any Bank’s ICCW enabled ATM using ‘UPI QR Cash’.

Transaction will be done through single use QR code on ATM screen. Apart from this, users can easily withdraw cash through the scan and pay facility available on their UPI application. The ICCW facility mitigates risks such as shoulder surfing or card cloning by eliminating the need to enter the PIN or physically carry the debit card. Customers can avail instant cash withdrawal through secure digital channels.

The post SBI launches cardless cash facility for all bank customers, launches YONO app with new features first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

RBI Panel Suggestions: Banking sector is expanding rapidly in the country. Keeping this in mind, continuous efforts are being made to improve the quality of service provided by the bank to its customers. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is trying to provide better service to bank customers, protect them from banking frauds and provide international level banking service through latest technology. The report of the committee constituted by RBI to improve the quality of banking facilities has been submitted.

Customer’s account should not be closed due to non-KYC

The committee constituted under the chairmanship of former RBI Deputy Governor BP Kanungo has suggested banks to take some steps in the interest of the customers. The most important recommendation given by the Kanungo Committee is that banks should not close the customer’s account if there is no KYC. The committee has recommended to make such a system, which does not require repeated KYC. Similarly, it has been said to give property papers on time to the customers taking home loans.

Recommendations made by the committee:

Bank employees should be trained to behave better with customers.
There should be a system of giving the same type of information in all ATMs.
To prevent digital fraud, special steps should be taken by the banks.
The system for registering complaints should be easy for customers who are dissatisfied with the service.
Arrangements should be made for better security of bank customers from cybercrime.

A common portal for complaints should be made.

Recommendations were also made for timely registration and disposal of complaints from the customers. Every year more than one crore bank customers make different types of complaints in the country. There should be a common portal for all of them so that there is ease in both filing and redressal of complaints. It will also be able to know whether action is being taken or not.

It was also suggested by the committee that after the death of the account holder, the claims of the heirs should be settled online. Along with this, suggestions were given to banks to show flexibility in submitting life certificates on behalf of pensioners. The report said that in case of loss of property documents, banks and financial institutions should not only be obliged to help get certified registered copies of the documents at their own cost but also pay adequate compensation.

The post Great initiative of RBI, crores of bank customers will be benefited first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

The committee has suggested banks to show online settlement of claims after the death of account holder’s heirs and flexibility in submission of life certificate on behalf of pensioners.

Banned due to non-compliance of KYC

The report of the committee constituted to review customer service standards in RBI-regulated financial institutions also suggested that non-updation of Know Your Customer (KYC) from time to time hampers operations of accounts. But don’t be banned.

Report released by the committee The committee

said in its report released on Monday that there should be a time limit for returning the property documents to the borrowers after the loan account is closed and the lender should be fined for not giving this time.

In case of loss of property documents, banks and financial institutions should not only help in getting certified registered copies of the documents at their own cost, but also adequately compensate the customer, according to the RBI deputy governor’s report . .

The Reserve Bank had constituted this committee in May last year under the chairmanship of BP Kanungo, former deputy governor of RBI. The committee has given its recommendations after reviewing the complaints filed under the Internal Grievance Redressal (IGR) system of financial institutions.

These suggestions given for the pensioners

The committee has also given some suggestions for the benefit of the pensioners. Accordingly, pensioners should be able to submit their life certificate at any branch of their bank. Also, they should be allowed to deposit LCs in any month of their choice to avoid rush.

The post RBI New Order..!
The country’s largest public sector bank State Bank of India (SBI) abolished the minimum balance limit in March 2020. Earlier, customers in urban areas had to maintain a minimum balance of Rs 3,000, customers in semi-urban areas Rs 2,000 and customers in rural areas Rs 1,000.

Punjab National Bank

In Punjab National Bank, customers of metro and urban areas have to maintain an average minimum balance of Rs 2,000. At the same time, this limit has been fixed at Rs 1,000 for semi-urban areas and Rs 500 for rural areas.

ICICI Bank

ICICI Bank requires an average minimum balance of Rs 10,000 for metro and urban customers, Rs 5,000 for semi-urban customers and Rs 2,000 for rural customers.

Why does the bank keep the minimum balance limit

The biggest reason for banks to keep minimum balance is the cost of banking operations. If the customer does not maintain the minimum balance, then the bank incurs losses.

The post Minimum Balance In Account!

ICICI Bank Data Breach: Data of 35 lakh users of ICICI Bank has been leaked. This includes users’ credit card details, bank account information and other personal information.

It has been told in the report of CyberNews that the details of the system of ICICI Bank were being managed in a wrong way. Users’ data was stored in the cloud and anyone could see it. However, when CERT-IN got its information, the agency issued an alert. After this the bank rectified the error and the data was deleted.

Which details of the customers were leaked?

The research team of Cyber News found that some such data of ICICI Bank was present in the cloud storage, which could be used by anyone. In this, all the sensitive information like user’s name, date of birth, home address, email ID, bank account details, credit card number, passport, PAN, bank statement and KYC details were present. Not only this, in this leaked data, resumes of some existing employees and candidates applying for the job were also uploaded.

ICICI Bank deleted data

According to ICICI Bank, the leaked data has now been removed. However, if this data is in the hands of a scammer, then its effect can be dangerous. Obviously, due to all such information, the customers of the bank may have to suffer huge losses.

It is a simple matter that banks and other financial firms are the most targeted by hackers. In such a situation, the leakage of data of ICICI Bank on such a large scale is a big negligence. This poses a threat to both the bank and its customers.

Reserve Bank of India: If your bank account is in a co-operative bank, then you must read this news. Banks have been facing strict action from the Reserve Bank (RBI) for the last few years.

The effect of this is that the RBI even canceled the licenses of some banks. Not only this, the central bank has also imposed heavy fines on some big banks. Co-operative banks are facing the maximum loss in the Reserve Bank’s action.

Reserve Bank also imposed penalty 114 times

The licenses of eight co-operative banks have been canceled by the RBI in the financial year 2022-23 ending on March 31. Reserve Bank has also imposed penalty 114 times on these banks for not following the rules. Let us tell you that banking service has expanded rapidly in rural areas through co-operative banks. But due to the irregularities coming to the fore in these banks, RBI had to take drastic steps.

Allegations of negligence in rules

Co-operative banks are facing interference from local leaders apart from dual regulation and weak finance. The Reserve Bank has started cracking down on co-operative banks, which are negligent in the rules. Permits of eight banks have been canceled in the last one year. Let us know which banks’ permits were canceled by RBI?

Licenses of these banks were canceled

1. Mudhol Co-operative Bank
2. Milath Co-Operative Bank
3. Shree Anand Co-Operative Bank
4. Rupee Co-operative Bank
5. Deccan Urban Co-operative Bank
6. Laxmi Co-operative Bank
7. Sewa Vikas Co-operative Bank
8. Babaji Date Mahila Urban Bank

The licenses of the banks mentioned above by the RBI were done due to insufficient capital, non-compliance with the rules of the Banking Regulation Act. Also canceled due to reasons like lack of future income possibilities. Co-operative banking sector is being monitored by RBI for the last several years. The central bank has canceled the licenses of 12 co-operative banks in the year 2021-22, 3 co-operative banks in 2020-21 and two co-operative banks in 2019-20.

It was informed by the RBI that the registration of Pune-based Kudos Finance and Investments Limited (Kudos Finance and Investments Pvt Ltd) and Mumbai-based Credit Gate Pvt Ltd. has been cancelled. Both NBFCs were involved in regulatory lapses in lending.

The registration certificate was canceled

The statement issued by the Reserve Bank (RBI) said that after the cancellation of the Certificate of Registration (CoR), both NBFCs (NBFCs) cannot do business of Non-Banking Financial Institutions (NBFIs). The central bank said, ‘… the registration certificate of NBFC has been cancelled. The registration has been canceled due to violation of RBI guidelines on outsourcing and fair dealing activities in the work of digital loan operations through third party apps.

Had done undue harassment to the customers

According to RBI both the above mentioned NBFCs were also not following the extant rules regarding charging more interest. Along with this, undue harassment was done to the customers regarding loan recovery. In early February, the RBI imposed a fine of Rs 42.48 lakh on Krazybee Services Pvt Ltd. The matter of harassing the customers at the time of loan collection by Crazybee’s recovery agent came to the fore.

If you yourself are a bank employee or there is a bank employee in your family, then this news will make you happy. Yes, the long standing demand of bank employees can now be fulfilled.

According to this, the facility of five day week may be implemented soon for the bank employees. An agreement has been reached between the Indian Banks Association (IBA) and the United Forum of Bank Employees regarding this. But due to the increase of two holidays in a month, the working hours of the bank employees will be increased.

Will have to work 40 minutes more daily

According to the new agreement, bank employees will have to work 40 minutes more daily. Let us tell you that apart from Sunday, banks have a holiday on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. But now in the coming time, banks will remain closed on every Saturday and Sunday. A new arrangement may start soon regarding this. Consent has been given by the association in this regard. Bank unions have been demanding five days working for a long time.

Five day week happened in LIC last year

Five day week was done in LIC before the listing in the stock market in the year 2022. After this, the demand for five day week from the bank unions intensified. S Nagarajan, General Secretary of All India Bank Officers, said that the government will have to declare all Saturdays as holidays under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.

According to the report, the employees will need to work 40 minutes more daily from 9.45 am to 5.30 pm. A senior official also told that this proposal has been agreed to by the IBA. Bank employees say that most of the customers are using mobile banking, ATM and internet banking facilities. But still it is with some customers that they prefer to visit the branch.

RBI Re-KYC Rules: The Governor of RBI has given a lot of information regarding the rules of KYC. If you have done KYC once, then you will not need to go to the bank to get it done for the second time.

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has given this information. Shaktikanta Das has told that if your address has changed, then you should send your new address to the bank on email or registered mobile number. It has been clearly stated by RBI that if you have KYC in one bank, then there is no need to do KYC again, you just have to share your CKYCR identifier number with the bank. If your bank asks you to do so, then you can complain to your bank.

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das

Giving information on this subject, Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das has made it clear that now the customer does not need to visit the bank to get re-KYC done. You can easily re-kyc online sitting at home. If there is no change in your KYC details, then you can get reKYC done by sending an email or by sending a message to the bank from your registered mobile.

How to do kyc on change of address

For this, you can send email or message to the registered mobile number to the bank sitting at home.
– The bank will verify it by sending a letter within just 60 days
– Under CKYCR, the customer is given a CKYCR identifier number, which you share with the bank, then the other bank does not have to do KYC.
If your bank asks you to come to the bank to do KYC, then the bank can complain about it under the Banking Ombudsman and non-legal fast resolution.

To prevent this, the Reserve Bank has now made strict rules. This has increased the responsibility of the banks. Now if anything is stolen from your locker or there is any kind of disturbance, then the bank will have to pay compensation of 100 times the rent of the locker to the customer.

New Delhi. Keeping in mind the safety of the customers, the Reserve Bank has made a big change in the rules of bank locker. If you are also planning to open a locker in any bank or if you already have a locker in any bank, then it is very important for you to know about the new rules.

After the continuous complaints from bank locker customers, the Reserve Bank decided to change the rules. The new rules have come into effect from January 1, 2022. If you have not come to know about these rules yet, then here we are telling you what changes have been made.

Bank will give compensation for theft

It has been the complaint of most of the customers that goods were stolen from their locker. To stop this, the Reserve Bank has now made strict rules. This has increased the responsibility of the banks. Now if anything is stolen from your locker or there is any kind of disturbance, then the bank will have to compensate the customer 100 times the rent of the locker. Now banks cannot say that they are not responsible for theft.

CCTV is necessary

Now it will be mandatory for banks to install CCTV to monitor the locker rooms. Along with this, it has also been made necessary to keep the data of CCTV for 180 days. This will help in checking if any discrepancy occurs. It has also been made mandatory to keep a record of the CCTV footage in case a customer complains of any disturbance or theft to the bank till the police investigation is completed.

It is necessary to send e-mail and SMS alerts

In order to protect customers from frauds, the Reserve Bank has now made it necessary that the bank will have to send SMS and e-mails every time a customer accesses his locker. This alert will protect customers from fraud.

Information about empty locker will have to be made public

According to the new rules of the Reserve Bank, banks can no longer give half-completed or false information about the locker to the customers. They will have to make public the list of empty lockers, the waiting list for the locker and the number of the waiting list. These have to be put on the display board of the bank. Also, they will have to accept all the applications related to opening the locker and inform the customers about the waiting list.
