PPF withdrawal is completely tax free. The special thing is that both PPF Withdrawal on maturity and partial withdrawal before maturity are tax free. It is listed under the tax implications of the EEE (Exempt-Exempt-Exempt) category.

PPF: Public Provident Fund is one of the most favorite schemes of investors as a safe investment for the future. Here this scheme is also very famous in terms of safe and guaranteed returns. Since after Corona, people have understood a lot that it is necessary to have adequate emergency fund. But with this it is also important to know when and how to withdraw the invested amount. So first of all know that the maturity period of Public Provident Fund is 15 years. However, after the maturity of the account, it can be extended for 5 years.

PPF Partial Withdrawal Process

PPF investors should keep in mind that partial amount deposited in the account can be withdrawn only after 7 years. If you are eligible for PPF withdrawal, you can withdraw a part of the accumulated amount. For this it is important that you know the whole process.

step 1:You can download the PPF Withdrawal Form (Form C) online from your bank’s website or you can also collect it by visiting the bank branch. Explain that there are three sections of the PPF withdrawal form.

The first is the declaration section, where you have to provide your PPF account number and the amount you want to withdraw. Also, you have to tell for how many years the account has been active.

Office-use section: In this you will have to enter the account opening date, current balance, date of last PPF Withdrawal (if any), total withdrawal made from the account etc.

Bank Detail Section: In this section you have to enter your bank account number as well as other information related to the account in which the withdrawn amount should be deposited.

Step 2:Attach a copy of PPF passbook with Form C

Step 3:

Submit it at your respective bank branch

After this process your application will be processed. Then the withdrawal amount will be approved as soon as possible. You can deposit this amount in your savings account or you can get a demand draft (DD) for it. Also, you will have to mention about it on the form (PPF Withdrawal), affix a revenue stamp on it and sign it.

Tax exemption on PPF

PPF withdrawal is completely tax free. The special thing is that both PPF Withdrawal on maturity and partial withdrawal before maturity are tax free. It is listed under the tax implications of the EEE (Exempt-Exempt-Exempt) category. Depositing up to Rs 1.5 lakh in a PPF account in a year is exempt from tax under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act. The principal amount invested, the interest earned on it and the maturity amount are tax free. However, the maximum contribution to PPF in a financial year is Rs 1.5 lakh, the entire amount is tax-free provided the account holder has not made any other investments under section 80C.

After this change in interest rates, the bank is offering up to 9% interest to its senior citizen customers for a fixed time period. The increased new interest rates are applicable from 21 November.

Depositing money in Fixed Deposit (FD) still remains the first choice of most people to get guaranteed returns after a fixed period. Banks also keep changing their FD rates from time to time. But after the continuous increase in the repo rate by the RBI after May, there was a competition among the banks to increase the FD rates. In this sequence, Unity Small Finance Bank has increased its FD rates for the second time in November. After this change in interest rates, the bank is offering up to 9% interest to its senior citizen customers for a fixed time period. The increased new interest rates are applicable from 21 November.

9% interest on FD of this time period

Unity Small Finance Bank is giving 4.5% to 8.50% interest to its general customers on FDs of less than Rs 2 crore. At the same time, after the latest increase in interest rates, the bank is giving 8.50% interest to its general customers and the highest 9% interest to its senior citizen customers on FDs of 181 days to 501 days.

On the other hand, the bank has also increased the interest rates on callable and non-callable bulk deposits above Rs 2 crore. After this increase, this small finance bank is paying 8% interest on callable deposits and 8.10% on non-callable deposits.

RBI has increased the repo rate for the fourth time in a row To stop rising inflation, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has increased the repo rate for the fourth time in a row after May. After this increase, the repo rate has increased to 5.90%.On September 30, the RBI had decided to increase the repo rate by 0.50% for the fourth time in the monetary policy meeting.

After this increase in the repo rate, it increased from 5.40% to 5.90%.Ever since the RBI has increased the repo rate, apart from the big banks of the country, many financial banks have also increased their FD rates continuously.

The CBT has recommended the government to make necessary changes in the EPA-95 plan. It is believed that when the retirement benefit is fixed, the retiring employees will get more benefits. On Monday, the Employee Provident Fund Organization has announced some new changes to withdraw money. According to the new rules, an employee can withdraw money even 6 months before retirement.

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has announced a significant change on Monday. Now how can customers withdraw their savings amount? Employees Pension Scheme 1995 (EPS-95) deposits can now be withdrawn by subscribers even with less than six months service as per the decision taken by EPFO.

At present, only EPFO members who have less than six months of service left can withdraw the amount deposited in an employee’s provident fund account. The Central Board of Trustees in its 232nd meeting, chaired by Union Labor Minister Bhupendra Yadav, the highest decision-making body of EPFO, recommended changes to the existing EPS-95 scheme to the government. The board has advised the government regarding the extension of EPS withdrawal benefit to the members who are going to retire in six months.

The board has also suggested that the participants who have deposited the amount in the scheme for more than 34 years should be given proportionate pension benefits. As a result, when the retirement benefit is fixed, the retirees will get a higher pension.

According to the statement, the board has recommended that it is possible to determine the value of equitable transfer whenever exemption from EPS-95 is granted or cancelled. It has an exchange-traded fund (ETF) unit investment policy that has been approved. The board also gave its approval for transactions of ETF units purchased in 2018 to capture capital gains.

The documents authorized to submit this audit report to Parliament include audited annual accounts for the financial year 2020-21 as per the Employees’ Deposit Link Insurance (EDLI) Scheme 1976, EPS Scheme 1995 and EPF Scheme 1952.
