Holidays in Punjab schools- Although there has been a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, tension still persists in the border districts of Punjab, keeping this in mind, special orders have been issued by the Deputy Commissioners of the border districts.

The DC of Gurdaspur district has ordered to keep 4 schools in villages in border areas closed till May 20. These schools are Government Primary School Jaura, Government Primary School Shakri, Government Primary School Rampur, Government Primary School Thakarpur. As per the order issued by the Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur, online classes will be conducted in these schools till May 20.

The DC himself will take the next decision on when classes will resume in these schools and when children will be called to school.

Govt Ban on autos, e-rickshaw for school kids’ transport from April 1

Now school children in Bihar will not be able to go to school by auto and e-rickshaw. The state government has taken a big decision giving priority to the safety of children.

An order has been issued in this regard jointly by the Transport Department and Bihar Police Headquarters. According to which, a complete ban has been imposed on the use of auto and e-rickshaw for school children from April 1, 2025. This step has been taken in view of the increasing road accidents in the state.

According to the orders, there are no special provisions for the safety of children in autos and e-rickshaws. Often, children are accommodated in them beyond their capacity and traffic rules are also violated. In Bihar, several accidents have occurred in recent years involving autos and e-rickshaws carrying school children. These accidents have put the lives of children at risk and have increased concerns among parents. The transport department says that this ban is an important step towards saving the lives of children and improving road safety.

However, this decision is likely to affect the livelihood of thousands of auto and e-rickshaw drivers across the state. Around 4000 autos operate in cities like Patna to ferry school children. Drivers say the government should ensure alternative arrangements. On the other hand, now the responsibility of arranging safe and licensed vehicles will be on the school management.

All India Road Transport Workers Federation General Secretary Raj Kumar Jha and Auto Rickshaw Drivers Association President Pappu Yadav have supported this decision. They said that the safety of children is of utmost importance. The Transport Department has directed the Superintendents of Police of all districts to ensure strict compliance of this rule. A warning of strict action against those violating the rules has also been given.

School Holiday declared on January 18 in THIS state, District Magistrate issues orders

A holiday has been declared in schools in Mansa district on Saturday, January 18. In this regard, District Magistrate Kulwant Singh said that it has come to the notice of the District Education Officer that the entrance examination for class 6 is being conducted in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya on January 18, 2025 from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm.

Exercising the powers vested in him under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, the District Magistrate has declared a one-day holiday (only for the students of the schools) in the schools designated for this examination.

He said that this examination will be held in Government Secondary School (Girls) Budhlada, Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) Budhlada, Government Secondary School (Boys) Bareta, Government Secondary School (Girls) Bareta, Government Secondary School Jhunir, Government Secondary School Bhamme Kalan, Government Secondary School (Girls) Sardulgarh, Government Secondary School (Boys) Sardulgarh, Government Secondary School (Girls) Mansa and Government Secondary School (Boys) Mansa.

Therefore, a one-day holiday has been declared for school students on Saturday, January 18, 2025. The District Magistrate said that all the staff of the said schools will be present in the schools as usual. This holiday will be under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.

The education department has sought suggestions from the concerned parties within 15 days. According to the notification, the total number of summer and winter school holidays will be 52 each. This will ensure that students and teachers get adequate breaks.

The tentative schedule of holidays in government schools of Himachal Pradesh has been released. This time, there have been possible changes in the holiday schedule in schools. According to the notification issued by the Education Department, it has now been decided to make a fresh arrangement for the summer and winter holidays as well as the holidays given during festivals. For this, the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of the concerned districts have been authorized. These changes have been made keeping in mind the weather, natural disasters and festivals.

The big change is that now the decision will be taken by the District Magistrate. This step has been taken to ensure the safety of children during monsoon and other natural calamities. The DC has been given the authority to decide the holidays according to the weather conditions of his area.

The education department has sought suggestions from the concerned parties within 15 days. According to the notification, the total number of summer and winter school holidays will be 52 each. This will ensure that students and teachers get adequate breaks.

A total of 40 days have been allotted for summer vacations and monsoon holidays in schools.

Public holiday- The Chhattisgarh Government has declared a public holiday on 18 December 2024 on the occasion of Guru Ghasidas Jayanti. This day will be celebrated with special enthusiasm and devotion across the state.

Remembering the contribution of Guru Ghasidas, government offices, schools, colleges, banks and other institutions of the state will remain closed. On this occasion, a ‘Dry Day’ has also been declared, that is, the sale of liquor will be banned on this day.

Guru Ghasidas was born on 18 December 1756 AD. He was a great saint and social reformer of Chhattisgarh, who dedicated his life to establishing equality and brotherhood in the society. Guru Ghasidas raised his voice against casteism, discrimination and inequality. His message was that all human beings should be given equal status.

A dry day has been declared in Chhattisgarh on the day of Guru Ghasidas Jayanti. This means that there will be a complete ban on the sale of liquor on this day.

School Timings Changed-

Here, morning schools will now run from 9 am to 3 pm.

The Punjab State Child Rights Protection Commission has taken strict notice of private schools not complying with the orders of the Education Department regarding the timing of school opening in summer and winter season.

Commission Chairman Kanwardeep Singh said that many private schools ignore the instructions of the Education Department and open the schools before the scheduled time, due to which the safety of children may be threatened in foggy and cold weather.

Recently, cases of accidents with school buses have come to light in many places, due to which the lives of children are in danger. Taking cognizance of this matter, the commission has instructed the school education department to take strict action against any private school that violates government orders.

He said that if a school does not follow the government orders and an accident occurs, the principal and management of the school concerned will be responsible for it. In this regard, the Commission has instructed all District Education Officers, Child Protection Officers and the Police Department to take immediate action to ensure the compliance of government orders in schools.
