EPFO Big Update: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made a major decision for its millions of members. Several important changes were approved at a meeting of the Central Board of Trustees (CBT). Members will now be able to withdraw 100% of their eligible balance.

EPFO New Rule: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) took several important decisions at its 238th Central Board of Trustees (CBT) meeting, which will benefit millions of members. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization’s board meeting, chaired by Union Labor Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, made several significant decisions. Employees will now be able to withdraw 100% of their “eligible balance,” i.e., both the employee and employer portions, from their accounts. Furthermore, partial withdrawal rules have been simplified and made transparent, ensuring that members face no difficulties in withdrawing funds when needed.

The meeting, chaired by Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, included several steps taken to simplify rules, expand digital services, and reduce litigation. These changes are a major step towards making life easier for employees. The meeting decided to make major changes to the rules governing partial withdrawals from the EPF scheme. Until now, there were 13 different rules for withdrawals under different circumstances, which have now been consolidated into three simple categories: essential needs (such as illness, education, marriage), housing needs, and special circumstances.

Major Decisions Taken at the EPFO Meeting

Now 100% Withdrawal Facility

The EPFO has eliminated 13 previously stringent rules and now allows partial withdrawals in only three categories: essential needs (illness, education, marriage), housing needs (house-related expenses), and special circumstances. Members will now be able to withdraw the entire balance in their PF account (including both employee and employer portions).

Previously, only three withdrawals were allowed for education and marriage, but now 10 withdrawals can be made for education and five for marriage. Furthermore, the minimum service period has been reduced to 12 months, which previously varied for different needs. The most significant change is that employees can now withdraw up to 100% of the balance in their account, including both the employee and employer portions.

25% Minimum Balance Required
EPFO has also ensured that members always maintain a minimum balance of 25% in their accounts. This will allow members to benefit from an 8.25% interest rate and compound interest, helping them build a substantial retirement corpus.

Withdrawals Without Reason
Previously, in special circumstances (such as natural disasters, unemployment, or pandemics), a reason had to be given for withdrawals. This often resulted in claims being rejected. Now, this hassle has been eliminated. Members will be able to withdraw without reason under special circumstances.

Auto-settlement process simplified
Under the new rules, no documentation will be required. The withdrawal process is set to be fully automated, speeding up claim settlement. The period for premature final settlement has been extended from two months to 12 months, and the pension withdrawal period has been extended from two months to 36 months. This will allow members to withdraw funds for their needs without using their retirement funds.

Digital Transformation and New Features for Pensioners
The EPFO has developed a new framework under “EPFO 3.0” to further enhance digital services. This integrates core banking solutions with a cloud-based, API-first, and microservices-based system. This will enable faster claim processing, instant withdrawals, multilingual self-service, and easier payroll contribution integration.

EPFO Interest Check: If you are a salaried class and PF is deducted from your salary every month, then this news will make you happy. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has deposited the 8.25% interest declared for the financial year 2024-25 in the accounts of the members.

Interest money has been deposited in the accounts of about 97 percent of the members. Union Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that EPFO will deposit 8.25% interest for FY 2024-25 in the accounts of all the members by the end of the week. Every year, after approval from the central government, EPFO adds interest to the accounts of its crores of members.

8.25% interest approved

The government approved the 8.25% interest rate for the financial year 2024-25 on 22 May 2025. After this, EPFO started preparations and started updating the annual accounts from the night of 6 June. Mandaviya said that this year the accounts of 33.56 crore members of 13.88 lakh institutions had to be updated. Till July 8, interest has been deposited in 32.39 crore accounts of 13.86 lakh establishments.

Due to improvement in the system, most of the work was completed in June
The Union Minister said that the update of 99.9% establishments and 96.51% member accounts has been completed. Last year (2023-24), the process of depositing interest started in August and was completed by December. But this year, due to improvement in the system, most of the work has been completed in June itself. The remaining accounts will also be updated this week. The decision to keep the interest rate at 8.25% was taken in the 237th meeting of the Central Board of Trustees of EPFO held in Delhi on 28 February 2025. This meeting was chaired by Mandaviya. After this, the proposal was sent to the Finance Ministry for final approval.

The specialty of EPF

is that EPF gives higher and stable returns as compared to other investment schemes of the government. Investing in it helps in increasing savings for retirement. In February 2024, EPFO increased the interest rate from 8.15% to 8.25% for 2023-24. Earlier in 2021-22, the interest rate was reduced to 8.1%, which was the lowest interest rate since 1977-78. Mandaviya said that the system is being further improved by EPFO, so that the process of depositing interest is faster in future.

How to check interest money

The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has transferred interest at the rate of 8.25% for the year 2024-25 to the accounts. To check the interest money in your account, you can use the following easy methods.

When the company is closed

If a company or factory’s operations are shut down for six months, the employee can withdraw his entire PF amount. However, when the company restarts, the withdrawn amount has to be returned in 36 installments.

In case of layoff

In case of dismissal from the job, the employee can withdraw 50% of the amount from his PF account. However, he has to provide proof of not having a job while applying.

At work stoppage

If in an emergency situation the company’s operations are closed for more than 15 days, the employee can withdraw 100% of the amount deposited in his PF account.

Options on retirement

After retirement, the employee has two options. First, he can withdraw the entire amount of his PF account in lump sum. The second option is monthly pension (EPS), under which a fixed amount is received every month as pension.

Budget Expectations: Several steps may be announced to provide relief to EPFO members. Under this, employees associated with the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) may be given the option to convert their PF funds into pension.

The central government is considering options to provide comprehensive benefits to the elderly under social security after retirement. Under this, employees associated with the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) can be given the option to convert their PF funds into pension. This will enable employees to get more pension after retirement. It is expected that the government may also make an announcement regarding social security in the budget for the upcoming financial year 2025-26.

Sources reveal that on the instructions of the Central Government, the Ministry of Labor and Employment is already working on options to increase the scope of the social security scheme. Under the new options, many types of facilities will be provided to the workers. Workers associated with EPFO will be able to convert the amount deposited in the PF fund into pension at the time of retirement.

This means that at the time of retirement, if an employee feels that he needs a higher pension in his old age, he can put the money deposited in the fund into the pension fund. This will increase the amount received as pension.

These facilities are also available

1. Interest will be available on PF fund even after retirement

Similarly, if an employee feels at the time of retirement that he has other options of income and he does not want pension on retirement at the age of 58, but wants to start pension at 60-65 or any other age, then this option will also be provided. In such a case, interest will keep accruing annually on the amount deposited in the pension fund and the pension will start being received from the age at which he wants to start.

2. Provision of lump sum deposit in PF account

The ministry wants that EPFO members should be allowed to deposit a lump sum amount in their account in addition to the regular fixed monthly contribution. This option has been under discussion for a long time, but now there seems to be a consensus at many levels.

If such a facility is provided, more contribution will be deposited in the PF account. This will enable employees to keep more funds in their account under social security and get more pension on retirement.

3. Consideration of income tax exemption on additional contribution

The ministry believes that there are many people who have savings but they do not make FDs in banks because the annual interest there is only seven percent or less. Whereas, the interest on the amount deposited in the PF account is more than eight and a quarter percent.

In such a situation, if the facility of lump sum deposit is given, then people will start putting money in EPF account for future security. Sources reveal that discussions have also been held with the Finance Ministry in this regard that it should also give the benefit of income tax exemption limit on such contribution, so that people can be encouraged to put lump sum money as contribution.

4. Consider expanding the scope of IT systems

At present, work is going on to make the EPFO system like banking. IT System 3.0 is likely to be completed in June, due to which people will start getting banking like facilities. Along with this, the government is also working on options related to increasing benefits under social security, which can be announced in the budget or even after that. Regular discussions are going on between EPFO and Ministry of Labor and Employment regarding this.

Members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) and Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) may soon get the facility to use their claim amount through e-wallets.

Labor and Employment Ministry Secretary Sumita Dawra gave this information on Wednesday. It is being told that EPFO is also considering implementing the system of direct withdrawal from ATM. The process of ATM and e-wallet can be implemented by March 2025.

He said that the organization is working towards simplifying the process of withdrawal from PF account. Currently, in auto settlement cases, the amount goes directly to the bank account and members can withdraw it from any ATM. Now the organization is preparing how to send the claim amount directly to the e-wallet. Work is being done towards developing a new system for this.

Contacted the banks

Dawra said that we have started discussions with banks and other financial institutions to implement the new system and will soon prepare a practical plan on it. He also informed that the Reserve Bank of India is being contacted to implement this process. This initiative will provide more flexibility to all members in using their funds and promote digital transactions.

Withdrawal rules will not change

An official associated with EPFO says that in the new system, only the withdrawal process will be simplified. There will be no change in the rest of the rules related to withdrawal. Under the current rules, an employee will be able to withdraw only the amount of money he is allowed to withdraw at one time.

Employers have to do the verification by January 31

EPFO has extended the last date for checking higher salary options for pension and uploading salary details to 31 January 2025. EPFO has said that even after extending all the dates, more than 3.1 lakh applications are pending with the employers, so this time the last chance is being provided.

Along with this, EPFO has also requested the employers to submit their replies and provide information in 4.66 lakh cases by January 15. It is worth noting that till July 11, 2023, 17.49 lakh applications have been received for higher pension. Out of these, verification of more than 3.1 lakh applications is still pending with the employers.

EPFO Advance: There is good news for EPFO subscribers. Now, advance claims are being settled within 3 days. This service is being provided rapidly like EPFO. Giving an example of advance claim settlement, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) said Anirudh Prasad had applied for sick advance under para 68J on May 9 and his advance claim would be settled on May 11, 2024, after three days. The amount was settled at Rs 92143.

EPFO has made many efforts to improve its service and there are many stories of improvement in advance claims. At the same time, last month, EPFO, in response to a member’s question on the time taken in the claim settlement process, had said that it usually takes 20 days to settle a claim.

This new service brought speed
Meanwhile, EPFO has started auto-mode claim settlement of advance claims for education, marriage and housing purposes, the Labor Ministry said in a statement on Monday. This step is expected to increase the ‘ease of living’ for crores of EPFO members.

Under auto-mode settlement by the superannuation fund body, the claim is processed automatically by the IT system without any human intervention.

How much advance can I get?
EPFO had introduced this auto settlement facility in April 2020 for the purpose of advance payment for sickness. Its scope has now been extended to other purposes like education, marriage and housing. Now this limit has been increased to Rs 1,00,000. EPFO said that during the current year, about 2.25 crore members are expected to avail the benefit of this facility.

During FY2023-24, EPFO settled approximately 4.45 crore claims, of which more than 60% (2.84 crore) claims were advance claims. Out of the total advance claims settled during the year, about 89.52 lakh claims were settled using auto-mode.

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) added a net 18.75 lakh members in July 2023. The maximum number of shareholders joining the organization in any one month.

This information was given in the data released on Wednesday about those getting jobs in the organized sector. This is the highest increase of 18.75 lakh members in any month since the EPFO payroll data was published since September 2017, the Labor Ministry said in a statement.

The number of EPFO members has been increasing for the last three months and in June the figure was 85,932. Data shows that around 10.27 lakh new members have enrolled during July 2023, the highest since July 2022.

Most of the new members are in the age group of 18-25 years.

Most of the new members joining EPFO are in the age group of 18-25 years. Their share in the total members is about 58.45 percent. The data of those who got jobs on regular salary shows that about 12.72 lakh members who had moved out rejoined EPFO. This rate is the highest in the last 12 months.

These members changed their jobs and rejoined the establishments under EPFO. Also they chose to transfer their deposits instead of applying for final settlement. According to the data, around 3.86 lakh women members joined EPFO during July 2023. About 2.75 lakh women members have come under the ambit of social security for the first time.

State-wise analysis shows that Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat and Haryana had the highest net increase. The statement said the payroll data is provisional, as data collection is an ongoing process.

ESIC added 19.88 lakh members

Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has added 19.88 lakh new employees under its health insurance scheme ESI in July, 2023. The Labor Ministry said in a statement that according to the provisional payroll data of ESIC, 19.88 lakh new employees were added in the month under review. The statement said that during this period, about 27,870 new establishments were registered and brought under the social security ambit of ESIC.

The data shows that more jobs were created for the youth. Of the total 19.88 lakh employees added during this period, 9.54 lakh employees were below 25 years of age. Similarly, the net enrollment of women members in July was 3.82 lakh, while a total of 52 transgender employees were registered under the ESI scheme.

Giving a big gift to the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) subscribers, the government has increased the interest rate on deposits in the PF account by 0.05 percent. According to the circular issued on July 24, for the financial year 2022-23, the interest rate on deposits in PF account has been increased from 8.10% to 0.05% to 8.15%. This money will start reaching the accounts of 6.5 crore EPFO members of the country by August 2023.

Now more interest will be available on PF

The Board of Employees Provident Fund Organization had fixed the interest rate of 8.15 percent on EPF Account in March for the financial year 2022-23 and sent this proposal to the Ministry of Finance for approval. Now it has been approved and members will get 0.05 percent more interest than before on PF account. Significantly, for the financial year 2021-22, EPFO had fixed the interest rate for EPF Account at 8.10 percent.

This is the lowest interest rate in almost 40 years. In 1977-78, the EPFO had fixed an interest rate of 8 per cent. But since then it has been continuously at 8.25 per cent or more. In the financial year 2018-19, 8.65 percent, 8.55 percent in 2017-18, 8.65 percent in 2016-17 and 8.8 percent interest was available in the financial year 2015-16.

This is how PF is deducted from salary If

you look at the EPFO Act, 12 percent of the base pay and DA of any employee is deposited in the PF account. On this, the concerned company also deposits the same amount i.e. 12% in the PF account of the employee. However, out of the contribution made by the company, 3.67 per cent goes to the EPF account, while the remaining 8.33 per cent goes to the Pension Scheme.

How much will the account holders benefit?

Now let’s talk about the maths of PF, then tell that if you have a total deposit of Rs 10 lakh in your PF account till March 31, 2023, then till now you used to get Rs 81,000 as interest at the rate of 8.10 per cent. On the other hand, now that the government has increased the PF interest rate to 8.15 percent, then according to this, the amount of interest on Rs 10 lakh deposited in the account will increase to Rs 81,500. That is, you will get a direct profit of Rs 500 on a deposit of Rs 10 lakh.

Now suppose an amount of Rs 5 lakh is deposited in the account of an employee, then according to the new interest rate, he will get an interest of Rs 40,750. Which used to be Rs 40,500 earlier, ie a profit of Rs 250. On the other hand, an employee with a deposit of Rs 3 lakh will get an interest of Rs 24,450.

Significantly, in a notification issued by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), it has been said that the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Government of India, has given approval under Para 60 (1) of the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, 1952, to deposit interest in the account of each member of the EPF scheme for the year 2022-23.

Check balance easily sitting at home

You can check the current balance of your PF account in easy ways sitting at home. Many options have been given for this. You can find out through the Umang app, website or by sending an SMS from your mobile phone. You can check your balance by following these easy steps.

Go to the official website of EPFO (www.epfindia.gov.in).

After this click on the E-PassBook option.

On the new page, enter UAN, password and captcha code and click on login.

After logging in, select the Member ID option to view the passbook.

Now you will get the passbook in PDF format, which can be downloaded.

You can also view the passbook directly by visiting https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/.

Now the complete information will be open in front of you.

The last good news has come for the crores of PF account holders sitting with their hearts. The Trust of Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has decided to increase the interest rates for the current financial year (2022-23) on Tuesday. Now more than 7 crore account holders of EPFO will get 8.15 percent interest.

According to the news agency PTI , after a two-day meeting of the Central Board of Trustees (CBT) of EPFO, it was decided to increase the interest rates of PF by 0.05 percent. Its interest rate was 8.10 percent in the last financial year, which has now increased to 8.15 percent. Earlier, the lowest PF interest rate was 8 percent in 1977-78.

There are not many screws left

that after the seal of the trustees of EPFO, the new interest rate will be applicable on the PF account. For this, it is also necessary to take the approval of the government. The Finance Ministry will also review the interest rate fixed for 2022-23 and only after it is approved, the way to send the interest money to the account will be clear. It is noteworthy that even the interest money for the financial year 2021-22 has not yet been received by the PF account holders.

Earlier the intention was to keep 8 percent, then…

speculations were being made that this time the interest rate on PF account is to be reduced once again to 8 percent. But the trustees felt that considering the inflation, more interest should be given to the account holders. On the first day of the meeting, the issue of higher pension was also discussed between the Union Labor Minister Bhupendra Yadav and the trustees. It was informed that EPFO is completing the process of providing higher pension to eligible subscribers.

Decreasing interest since 2018-19

The interest rate on PF is continuously decreasing since the financial year 2018-19. In the last financial year, the government had saved Rs 450 crore by reducing the interest rate to 8.10 per cent. In such a situation, it seemed that this year also the interest rate would remain the same or it would be reduced to 8 percent. In 2018-19, the interest on PF was 8.65 per cent, which was reduced to 8.50 per cent in 2019-20. The interest rate was the same in 2020-21 as well, whereas in 2021-22 it was reduced to 8.10 per cent.

EPF Pension Latest News: Have you retired from the job before the change of power in India during 2014 and yet you have not been given the benefit of enhanced pension by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO)?

If you are not yet availing the pension scheme of EPFO, then there is an important news for you. During the budget session of Parliament, Congress MP B Manikkam Tagore and Bharat Rashtra Samithi MP Manne Srinivasa Reddy asked Union Labor and Employment Minister Bhupendra Yadav questions related to the retired employees deprived of the benefits of the EPF pension scheme. Let us know what the Union Labor and Employment Minister Bhupendra Yadav gave in response to the question of the opposition MPs.

But, their combined options were rejected by EPFO (due to cut-off date). This is in pursuance of the directions of the Supreme Court as contained in Article 44(ix) read with Article 44(v) and (vi) of the judgment dated 04 November 2022 in SLP (Civil) No. 8658-8659 of the year 2019.

EPFO is considering the option of increased pension during the job?

As per the Employees’ Pension (Amendment) Scheme, 2014 notified vide 609(E), with effect from 01 September 2014 only employees drawing salary up to Rs.15,000 per month are entitled to subscribe to the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS), 1995.

What is the status of those who retired or employed after September 1, 2014?

In response to this question, Union Labor and Employment Minister Bhupendra Yadav said that those persons who have retired after 1st September 2014 or who are in service and are members of EPS 1995, they can apply for G.S. .Prohibit. are governed by the provisions of the EPS, 1995 as amended vide 609(A).

What is the Supreme Court’s order?

The Supreme Court has directed under Section 142 of the Constitution of India that members of the EPS, 1995, who have exercised the option to contribute on salary in excess of the wage ceiling as required in the proviso to pre-amended Article 11(3) of the EPS, 1995 not exercised shall be entitled to exercise the combined options under clause 11(4) of the post-amended scheme within the extended time period of four months.

EPFO Alert: If you are also employed, then an alert has been issued for you by EPFO. For this, it is not necessary that you are a government employee or work in a private company.

Being a member of EPFO means that your PF is deducted every month. An alert has been issued by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) for the employees whose PF is deducted. This alert has been issued in the last few days after many frauds in the name of EPFO came to the fore.

EPFO does not ask for personal information

Such alerts have been issued by EPFO in the past as well, but in the last few days the cases of fraud have increased rapidly. It was told by tweeting on behalf of EPFO that EPFO never asks for personal information like PAN, Aadhaar, UAN, bank account and OPT from its members through phone, social media, WhatsApp etc.

Do not answer calls or WhatsApp calls

EPFO warned that EPFO never asks to deposit any kind of money through social media, WhatsApp etc. for information related to any service or for anything else. In such a situation, all the members are advised not to answer any such call or WhatsApp call.

Employer’s share is deposited in two parts

12 percent of the basic salary and dearness allowance of EPFO members is deposited in the EPFO account. Similarly, 12 percent of the basic salary has to be paid by the employer. There are two parts in this 12 percent. Out of 12 percent, the first part of 8.33 percent goes to Employee Pension Account (EPS) and the remaining 3.67 percent amount goes to EPF account. There is a provision for the employee to get this amount on retirement. But you can remove it if needed even during the job.

Pension Scheme: The Supreme Court has extended the deadline for opting for the higher contribution option in the pension scheme to 6 months. Earlier this time limit was given for 4 months.

Through the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), the government runs the Employees Pension Scheme (EPS) to provide social security for retirement to the employees. In order to get more pension after retirement, the court has given relief in its decision last month for the employees to contribute more in the pension scheme.

The Supreme Court has extended the deadline for opting for the higher contribution option in the pension scheme to 6 months. Earlier this deadline was given for 4 months. In the case of the Employees’ Pension Scheme, the Supreme Court had said on November 4 that the employees who have not yet opted for enhanced pension coverage before 2014, have a chance to opt for it in the next four months from November 2022.

Explain that to choose this option, the employees along with the employer will have to give a declaration to EPFO. According to the report, the Supreme Court has said on Friday that the employees who have not exercised the option to join the pension scheme will have to do so within six months. The bench has said that the eligible employees who could not join the scheme till the last date should be given an additional chance as there was lack of clarity on the issue in the judgments issued by the High Courts of Kerala, Rajasthan and Delhi.

Got time till April 2023

After this decision of the court, the members of the flagship retirement savings scheme of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) have got a big relief. Because now they have got 6 months instead of 4 to get more contribution option. Meaning, members can exercise the option from November 2022 to April 2023. Within this deadline, the employees along with their employer will have to give a declaration to the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization regarding excess contribution in the pension scheme.

The government gave this indication

The central government has already indicated that it is in the process of increasing the salary cap by contributing more amount to get pension. Currently, the salary limit for the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) scheme of EPFO is Rs 15,000 per month. It was last revised and increased from Rs 6,500 per month in the year 2014. The government can now increase this salary limit and add it to Rs 21,000 per month.

Employees Provident Fund: Great news is going to come by the end of this month for 7 crore subscribers of Employees’ Provident Fund Organization ie EPFO. The government is going to transfer the interest for the financial year 2022 to the account of EPF account holders.

Let us tell you that this time interest will be available at the rate of 8.1 percent. According to the information received so far, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization has calculated the interest received in the PF account in the financial year 2022. Soon it will be transferred to the account of the account holders. This time a total of Rs 72,000 crore deposited in the account of the government will be sent to the account of the employed.

When will the money be transferred?

According to media reports, interest money can be transferred to the account by the end of this month. This year’s interest is at the lowest level in 40 years.

2. Check Balance Online

1. To do online balance check, log on to the EPFO website, click on e-passbook at epfindia.gov.in.
4. After filling all the details, you will come to a new page and here you will have to select the member ID.
5. Here you will get your EPF balance on the e-passbook.

EPF Calculation: There is also a retirement benefit scheme for employees in the private sector. This scheme is Employed Provident Fund (EPF). EPF is such an account, in which gradually large corpus is formed till retirement. To understand its calculation, read the news till the end.

There is also a retirement benefit scheme for employees in the private sector. This scheme is Employed Provident Fund (EPF). This scheme is for the employees working in the organized sector. Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) manages this scheme.

In the EPF account, there is a contribution from both the employee and the employer (company). This contribution is 12-12 per cent of the basic salary plus dearness allowance. The interest rates of EPF are fixed every year by the government. For the financial year 2022-23, the interest on EPF is getting 8.1 percent annually. EPF is such an account, in which gradually large corpus is formed till retirement.

Retirement fund on 15 thousand basic salary-

Suppose your basic salary and dearness allowance together is Rs 15,000. If you are 40 years old, then till retirement i.e. by the age of 58, you can have a retirement fund of Rs 27.66 lakh ready. The maximum contribution can be made in the EPF scheme only up to 58 years.

Understand EPF calculation-

Basic Salary + DA = Rs 15,000
Current Age = 40 Years
Retirement Age = 58 Years
Employee Monthly Contribution = 12%
Employer Monthly Contribution = 3.67%

Interest rate on EPF = 8.1% p.a.
Salary growth = 10%

The account holders of Employees’ Provident Fund Organization ie EPFO can get a big gift soon. According to a report, the minimum pension can be increased three times.

Employees’ Provident Fund Organization ie EPFO account holders (EPFO Subscribers) can get a big gift soon. According to the report of ET Now Swadesh, the minimum pension (EPFO Pension) can be increased three times. It has been said in the report that a meeting of the Central Board of Trustees of EPFO is going to be held next month. The three-fold increase in the minimum pension is expected to be discussed in this meeting . The minimum pension can be increased from the present Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000.

According to the report, a committee headed by the Labor Secretary will submit its report in this matter soon. This decision will benefit about 6.5 lakh pensioners and 5 crore subscribers of EPFO.

There may be an increase in the limit of investment in equity Apart from this, the discussion on increasing the CBT equity limit from 15 percent to 25 percent will also be discussed in the meeting. Let us tell you that the labor union is not in favor of increasing investment in equity. Behind this, he is citing the uncertainty in the stock market as the reason.

Let us tell you that a few days ago, the Finance Ministry had announced 8.1 percent interest rate for the financial year 2021-22, giving a shock to the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization subscribers. This is the lowest level in four decades. For the financial year 2020-21, the rate of interest on EPF was 8.5 percent. The impact of this decision of the government will be on 65 million subscribers i.e. 6.5 crore jobseekers. In order to keep it attractive amid the declining interest rate, the government is considering increasing the limit of investment in the stock market from the EPFO fund.

Actually, debt funds are not getting the required returns, so efforts are being made to get the targeted return by increasing investment in equities. An important meeting of the Finance Investment and Audit Committee was held two weeks ago to consider this proposal. The proposal which will be presented by this committee will be presented before the EPFO Central Body of Trustees.

A meeting of the Central Body of Trustees is proposed in the last week of June. After the discussion on the proposal in this meeting, it will be sent to the Labor and Finance Ministry for final approval.

The post Good News for EPFO Subscribers!

The scope of the unorganized sector in India is huge. These people do not get the benefit of any kind of social security. EPFO also gives pension to those people whose PF is deducted for 10 years. In such a situation, many people are deprived of the pension facility available.

EPFO has solved this problem. Recently, the Provident Fund Organization has recommended a new scheme. Under which those people can also be brought under the purview of pension, who are not getting pension till now. Let us know about this plan.

Government can make changes in the Act-

According to the EPFO, the Employees Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 will have to be amended to bring all the employees and self-employed people in the unorganized sector under the purview of EPFO.

In order to enable people in the unorganized sector to take advantage of the retirement savings scheme, the EPFO has recommended the removal of the salary and employee limits. In this act, if the limit like the number of employees and salary will be removed, then the people doing business will also be able to get the benefit of this new scheme.

Now this is the rule-

According to the rules of EPFO, the same company or firm is registered in EPFO. Where at least 20 employees work. According to reports, EPFO is in talks with all stakeholders for the new scheme and state governments are also being approached for the same. At present EPFO has more than 5.5 crore subscribers.

The fund of the Employees’ Fund Organization will increase-

EPFO gives provident fund, pension and insurance to its account holders through EPF, Employee Pension Scheme and Employee Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme.

If the Act is changed, then the subscribers to the Employees’ Provident Fund organization will increase and this will also increase the corpus of EPFO.

At the same time, the government has fixed the retirement age at 65 years in many departments.

Retirement age in India is less than the countries of America and Europe. The retirement age in the European Union is 65 years. At the same time, it is 67 years in Italy, Denmark and Greece. The retirement age of employees in the US is 66 years.

Elderly population will become 14 crores

According to the report, by the year 2047, India will become a country with a large population of elderly people. At that time the number of people above 60 years of age will increase to 14 crores. Because of this, the pressure on pension funds will increase.

For this reason, EPFO has asked to consider increasing the retirement age. If the retirement age increases, more money will be deposited in EPFO and other funds in the long term. This will reduce the pressure on the pension system and will also help in reducing the effect of inflation.

Over 6 Crore Subscribers

EPFO has over 6 crore subscribers and manages pension and provident funds of over Rs 12 lakh crore. According to the news, EPFO will include Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) in its plan. PFRDA operates the National Pension Scheme of the Central Government.

According to the 2021 report of the National Statistical Office (NSO), the population of the elderly aged 60 and above in the country was 138 million (13.80 million) in 2021. In 2031, this figure can reach 194 million (194 million).

EPFO Pension: There is good and important news for the pensioners getting pension from the Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). Actually, there is going to be a big change in the system of pension amount from EPFO. All pensioners will get the benefit of this.

There is great news for more than 73 lakh pensioners of the country. More than 73 lakh pensioners of Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) will now be able to get pension together. For this, the government is preparing to set up a central pension distribution system. The EPFO meeting is going to be held on July 29 and 30 in this regard. According to the information, this proposal can get green signal in this meeting.

In fact, at present, 138 regional offices of EPFO in the country send pension to the accounts of pensioners of their area. Due to which pensioners get the pension amount in their account at different days and times. If this system continues to be approved, then pension amount can be sent in one go to the accounts of more than 73 lakh pensioners across the country.

Let us tell you that in the 229th meeting of CBT held on 20th November, 2021, the trustees had approved the proposal for development of centralized IT based system by C-DAC. The Labor Ministry had said after the meeting that thereafter the details of regional offices would be transferred to the central database in a phased manner. This will facilitate the operation and delivery of services.

With the implementation of the centralized system, EPFO subscribers will get many benefits. With this there will be no duplication, as well as multiple PF accounts of a member will become a single account after merger. If someone changes jobs then the hassle of transferring PF account will also end.

The post EPFO Pension: Big news for 73 lakh pensioners, EPFO is going to do this work first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

Employees’ Provident Fund Organization ( EPFO Subscribers) can get a big gift soon.

There may be an increase in the limit of investment in equity

Apart from this, the discussion on increasing the CBT equity limit from 15 percent to 25 percent will also be discussed in the meeting.
