DA Hike 2025: A day before Dussehra, the central government has given millions of employees and pensioners a Diwali gift. The government has announced a 3 percent increase in dearness allowance (DA). This relief will be effective from January 1, 2025. Following this announcement, many employees are trying to calculate their increased salary. If your salary is 35,000 rupees, how much will your salary increase? Let’s find out.

How much will the salary increase?

The DA hike will directly impact the pockets of central government employees. If a government employee’s basic salary is 35,000 rupees, this will result in a 3 percent increase. This means their monthly salary will directly increase by 1,050 rupees. Over the course of a year, the employee will benefit by approximately 12,600 rupees.

This will also have a positive impact on pensioners, who will receive a higher monthly pension. The government says this necessary step has been taken in light of the long-standing inflation.

With major festivals like Dussehra and Diwali approaching, the increase in dearness allowance is being considered a gift for employees and pensioners. This will not only save money in their pockets but will also enable them to purchase essential items with the remaining money.

How much is the DA now?

The central government has increased the dearness allowance (DA) by 3%, making it 58%, effective July 1, 2025. This means that employees will receive the arrears for the three months of July, August, and September in a lump sum in their October salary.

How is dearness allowance determined?

The dearness allowance for government employees is periodically increased or decreased based on the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI). This index shows the impact of inflation on the common man. Whenever inflation increases, the government tries to provide relief to employees and pensioners by increasing dearness allowance in proportion to that.

India’s largest information technology services company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is going to give a salary hike to most of its employees from next month i.e. September. This information was given by TCS in an internal memo on Wednesday. Earlier, TCS had decided to lay off 12,000 employees, which was strongly opposed by employee organizations. Along with this, TCS had also announced a ban on salary hike, citing the global situation.

80 percent of staff will get a salary increase…

TCS Human Resources Officer Milind Lakdar and CHRO Designate K. Sudeep said in an email sent to employees on Wednesday that the salary hike will be effective from September 1.

TCS has taken this step with the aim of rewarding and retaining talent, at a time when the company has decided to lay off over 12,000 employees as part of its broader strategy to ‘future-proof the organisation’. The company says that for this, the focus will be on investment in technology, deployment of artificial intelligence (AI), market expansion and workforce restructuring.

Relief for employees…

It is worth noting that TCS has a grade structure, which starts with ‘Y’, which is given to the trainee. After this, the company’s staff positions go up to C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, and B and finally to CXO. Last week, market analysts had hinted that the salaries of the remaining employees after the layoffs may be increased. It is believed that other companies may also take a decision on the same lines in the future.

The central government has approved the formation of the 8th Pay Commission for government employees and pensioners. This will potentially benefit millions of people. The Narendra Modi-led government implemented the 7th Pay Commission in January 2016. Its recommendations will end on December 31, 2025. Earlier, the tenure of the 4th, 5th and 6th Pay Commissions was 10 years.

How much will the salary increase after the 8th Pay Commission

After the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission, there may be a bumper increase in the salary of central employees. According to reports, this time the fitment factor can be fixed at least 2.86. If this happens, the minimum basic salary of the employees will also increase. It can be Rs 51,480. Currently the minimum basic salary is Rs 18,000. Pensioners will also get similar benefits. Their minimum pension can increase from Rs 9,000 to Rs 25,740.

How much did the salary increase when the 7th Pay Commission was implemented
After the formation of the 7th Pay Commission, the minimum salary of central employees was increased the least. In this, the salary was increased according to the Fitment Factor, which was kept at 2.57 times. This made the basic salary Rs 18,000. If this formula is considered as the basis, then in the 8th Pay Commission, the minimum salary will be Rs 26,000 under the maximum range of the Fitment Factor.

What is the Fitment Factor?

The fitment factor is actually a formula used to increase the salary and pension of government employees and pensioners. On this basis, salary is increased at different levels. However, allowances are not added to it.

How did the salary of central employees increase?

In the 4th Pay Commission, the salary increase of central employees was 27.6 percent. In this, the minimum salary was fixed at Rs 750.

In the 5th Pay Commission, a big increase of 31 percent was made in the salary. Due to this, the minimum salary of central employees directly increased to Rs 2,550 per month.

The fitment factor was implemented in the 6th Pay Commission. Then it was kept at 1.86 times. Due to this, the employees got the biggest jump in salary. Their minimum salary increased by 54 percent and the basic salary increased to Rs 7000.

The 7th Pay Commission was formed in the year 2014. Taking the fitment factor as the basis, an increase of 2.57 times was made. But, the salary increase was only 14.29 percent.

Bank employees may soon get 2 days leave in a week. This demand, which has been rising for a long time, can be accepted by the government by June.

The government may accept the long standing demand of bank employees for a 5-day working week this year. According to media reports, after the approval of the Finance Ministry, bank employees are likely to get 5 working days a week and a salary increase in June 2024.

According to an ET report, the United Forum of Bank Unions, an alliance of bank employee unions, has written to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to allow a 5-day work week for the banking sector.

The Bank Employees Union also assured that there will be no cut in banking hours for customers or in the total working hours of employees and officers. The union has urged the Finance Minister to review the matter favorably and direct the Indian Banks Association (IBA) accordingly, the ET report said.

Currently, there is a holiday of 2 weeks and 5 days.

Currently, bank branches remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays. Bank unions have been demanding holiday on all Saturdays and Sundays since 2015. Under the 10th bilateral agreement signed in 2015, the RBI and the government agreed with the IBA and declared the second and fourth Saturdays as holidays.

What about salary increase?

In terms of salaries, the IBA and bank employee unions last year reached an agreement for a 17 per cent salary hike across all public sector banks (PSBs) in India, amounting to Rs 12,449 crore. If the pay hike is approved by the Centre, around 9 lakh employees, including 3.8 lakh officers, across all PSBs and select old generation private banks will benefit.

7th Pay Commission DA Hike: Central Government Employees have fun after Holi. If you are also waiting for increased salary, then a huge amount is going to come in your account. The central government has given great news to lakhs of employees and pensioners.

According to the information received from the sources, the government has decided to increase the dearness allowance (DA Hike) of the employees, after which the DA of the employees has increased from 38 percent to 42 percent. As of now, it has not been officially announced yet.

How much can the salary increase?

According to the information received from the 7th Pay Commission, after the increase in DA of the employees, if the salary of an employee is Rs. 30,000, then his gross salary can increase by about Rs. 10,800. On the other hand, if we talk about the secretary level, then there can be an increase in the annual salary of the employees by Rs 90,000 or even more.

There will also be an increase in pension, along with this, due to increase in DR, the pension of the employees is going to increase. If the DR of pensioners is 42 percent, then these people will get Rs 14868 every month. This benefit will be given to the Central Government employees.

2 months’ money will be given as arrears

According to media reports, the increased dearness allowance will be paid in the March salary. Along with this, the employees will get the salary for the months of January and February as arrears. If your basic salary is Rs 18,000, then accordingly your DA will increase by Rs 720 per month. On the other hand, when you get 2 months’ money as arrears, then Rs 1440 more will come in your account.

DA increases according to inflation

According to the information received from the Ministry of Labor, DA is calculated on the basis of Consumer Price Index (CPI-IW). How is inflation increasing in the country? Accordingly, the dearness allowance of the employees is increased. At present, in the month of January, the government has decided to increase the dearness allowance by 4 percent.

7th Pay Commission DA Hike Calculation: The decision of DA hike is awaited from the central employees. A decision on this is likely to be taken in the cabinet meeting to be held on March 1.

This time dearness allowance and dearness relief are expected to increase by 4 percent. With this it will increase to 42 percent. Employees will get the benefit of both increased DA and arrears in the March salary.

Dearness Allowance will be increased by 4 percent

Central employees will get DA for both January and February along with salary. It is clear from the figures of AICPI that this time dearness allowance will increase by 4 percent. If sources are to be believed, from January 2023, DA will increase to 42 per cent. This will benefit 52 lakh central employees and 60 lakh pensioners.

Shiv Gopal Mishra, secretary of the National Council of JCM (JCM), says that the dearness allowance (DA) received under the 7th Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission DA Hike) is currently 38 percent, which will increase to 42 percent this time.

How much will the salary increase?

Under the 7th Pay Commission, the calculation of dearness allowance for employees and dearness relief allowance for pensioners is done on the basis of basic salary. For example, if someone’s basic salary is Rs 25,000, then he will get 42% DA on Rs 25,000. That is, 42 percent DA of 25,000 became DA Rs 10,500. On the basis of this, the DA of other central employees will also increase. You can also calculate it by gathering information about your basic salary.

Here is the calculation

Level 1 Basic pay: Rs 18000
42% DA ie Rs 7560 per month

Level 1 Basic pay: Rs 25000
42% DA i.e. Rs 10500 per month

There will be so much difference in salary.

Under the 7th Pay Commission, if your basic pay is Rs.18,000, then you get
dearness allowance of Rs.6,840 at the rate of 38 percent. But if the dearness allowance is 42 percent, it will increase to Rs 7560. Similarly, if you have a basic salary of Rs 25,000, then at present you will be getting dearness allowance of Rs 9,500. But with DA being 42 percent, it will increase to Rs 10,500.

Note: Here the calculation of increased DA has been done for example. Increase in DA also affects other allowances. In such a situation, there may be a difference in the final calculation.

Budget 2023: The budget session of Parliament will begin on January 31 and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has to present the Union Budget on February 1, 2023. It is expected that the Finance Minister may announce an increase in the fitment factor in Budget 2023.

Special announcements can be made in the government budget to increase the salary of government employees. Only a few days are left for the presentation of India’s Budget 2023. Government employees, common people, middle class and taxpayers have a lot of expectations from Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s Union Budget 2023.

Central employees have the highest expectations from this budget as the Lok Sabha elections are going to be held in the year 2024 and this is the last full budget of the Modi government before the Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, the government can make populist announcements in this budget. Such announcements can be made in this budget which will increase the salary of government employees.

The government may announce the fitment factor in the Union Budget 2023. If this happens then a big hike can be seen in the basic salary of government employees. Presenting the budget on February 1, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman may announce a salary hike for central employees.

Will the salary increase in the budget on February 1, 2023?

The budget session of Parliament will begin on January 31 and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is to present the Union Budget on February 1, 2023 . It is expected that the Finance Minister may announce an increase in the fitment factor in Budget 2023. Special announcements can be made in the government budget to increase the salary of government employees. Central employees have been demanding a change in the fitment factor for a long time.

Demands have been placed before the government several times

The employees association has held several meetings with the government to increase the fitment factor. If media reports are to be believed, the government wants to implement it as soon as possible. So that, government employees can be wooed at the time of elections. Lok Sabha elections are to be held in the middle of the year 2024. If the government announces to increase the fitment factor in the budget, then if this happens, then there can be a big increase in the salary of the employees.

The salary of government employees will increase by this much

Currently the fitment factor is 2.57 per cent. This means that if someone gets a basic pay of Rs 15,500 in 4200 grade pay, then his total pay will be Rs 15,500×2.57 i.e. Rs 39,835. The increase in the fitment factor from 2.57 per cent to 3.68 per cent will increase the basic salary and the allowances attached to it. The minimum basic salary of the employees will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000. This step of the government will benefit about 48 lakh central government employees.

DA Hike Today: The biggest good news of this year for central employees is now a few days away. The morning of January 31 will be special for him. Because, on this day the picture of the increase in their next DA Hike for January will be clear.

Employees get the gift of Dearness Allowance twice every year. Dearness allowance is to be announced for the first time in this year. It is expected that there will be an increase of 3% in his DA. In such a situation, his total DA will reach 41%. Right now he is getting 38% DA. As soon as the dearness allowance is announced, there will be a big jump in the salary of central government employees.

Dearness Allowance (DA) will be increased by 41%

Dearness allowance news for January 2023 will be announced in January. It is expected to get approval from the cabinet in March. It is clear from the inflation figures of industrial workers that have come so far that there will be an increase of 3%. Earlier, the dearness allowance of July 2022 was announced, in which there was an increase of 4 percent. Due to rising inflation, the employees also got the gift of higher dearness allowance to deal with it. His DA was increased from 34 per cent to 38 per cent.

How much will the salary increase due to 3 percent increase?

According to the pay matrix of the 7th Pay Commission, the basic salary range of Central employees at Level-3 ranges from Rs 18,000 to Rs 56,900. If DA Hike increases by 3% in January, then the total DA will reach 41%.

Calculation at 41% DA

1. Basic salary of the employee Rs 18,000
2. Estimated DA (41%) Rs 7,380/month
3. New DA (38%) Rs 6,840/month
4. By how much DA increased 7380–6,840 = Rs 540/month
5 Increase in annual salary 540X12 = Rs 6,480

This means that the salary of every employee drawing a basic salary of Rs 18,000 will increase by Rs 540. On annual basis it will be Rs.6480.

If you look at the maximum salary bracket, then how much money will increase?

Calculation at 41% DA

1. Basic salary of the employee Rs 56,900
2. Estimated Dearness Allowance (41%) Rs 23,329/month
3. Dearness Allowance till now (38%) Rs 21,622/month
4. How much Dearness Allowance increased 23,329-21,622= Rs 1,707/month

Salary Hike In 2023: Even though there are many challenges in front of the corporate world in 2023 due to the global crisis, the Indian corporate world is preparing to increase the salary of its employees more in 2023 than in 2022.

According to a survey, where there was an average salary increase of 9.2 percent in 2022, but it is expected to increase by 9.8 percent in 2023 and even more talented people can see their salary increase.

According to the latest survey of Korn Ferry, the focus of the companies is that more talented people should not leave the companies and go elsewhere. For this, companies are trying to stop the high performing employees by giving different types of talent management steps and formal retention and higher salary. This survey was conducted in 818 companies, in which it was believed that in 2023, there could be an increase in the average salary of 9.8 percent.

During the Corona period in 2020, the average salary of the employees was increased by only 6.8 percent. According to the survey, an average salary increase of 10.2 percent can be seen in life sciences and healthcare and 10.4 percent in high technology sectors. Apart from this, the average salary increase is expected to be 9.8 per cent in services, 9 per cent in automotive, 9.6 per cent in chemicals, 9.8 per cent in consumer goods and 9 per cent in retail.

Korn Ferry’s Regional Managing Director Navneet Singh said that there is talk of recession and global economic crisis all over the world, but there is a positive thinking about the Indian economy that India’s GDP is estimated to be above 6 percent. He said that 15 to 30 percent salary hike can be seen in the salary of top talent people in companies.

According to the survey, the macroeconomic outlook is positive, but due to the constantly changing customer preferences, digital transformation, increasing participation, new types of pressure are increasing on the business. To stay ahead in this pressure and face the demand, corporates will have to transform the workforce. 60 percent of the companies said in the survey that they have adopted the hybrid model.

7th Pay Commission: Once again there is good news for central employees. After the four percent increase in DA in the month of September, the central government can give many big gifts to its employees in the new year. Let us know about it in detail.

The first one is the increase in Dearness Allowance again and the second one is the revision in the Fitment Factor. If this happens, then in the new year 2023, there will be a huge jump in the salary of central employees. According to an estimate, the salary of central employees will double.

Actually, the dearness allowance of central employees is reviewed every 6 months. Dearness allowance is hiked twice a year on the basis of AICPI figures. One hike takes place in January and the other in July. Like every year, in the year 2023 also there will be an increase in the dearness allowance of central employees.

Dearness Allowance (DA) for January 2023 is usually announced before Holi. Looking at the inflation figures so far, it seems that there may be an increase of 4 percent in the DA of central employees next year as well. If this happens, the cost of central employees will increase from the current 38 percent to 42 percent.

The Labor Ministry has released the figures of All India Consumer Price Index- Industrial workers (AICPI). In September this figure stood at 131.2. The overall AICPI index rose by 2.1 per cent till September 2022 as compared to June. Compared to August last month, there was a jump of 1.1 percent. However, the AICPI index numbers for October, November and December are yet to come.

How much will the salary increase , calculation on the minimum basic salary of Rs 18,000

Employee’s basic salary Rs 18,000

New Dearness Allowance (42%) Rs.7560/month

Dearness Allowance till now (38%) Rs.6840/month

How much dearness allowance increased 7560-6840 = Rs 720/month

Increase in annual salary 720X12= Rs 8640

Calculation on maximum basic salary of Rs.56900

Employee’s basic salary Rs 56900

New Dearness Allowance (42%) Rs 23898/month

Dearness Allowance till now (38%) Rs 21622/month

How much dearness allowance increased 23898-21622 = Rs 2276/month

Increase in annual salary 2276X12 = Rs 27312

More than one crore employees and pensioners will be benefited

Significantly, the increase in dearness allowance by the central government will benefit about 47 lakh employees and 68 lakh pensioners of the country. The government had increased DA by 3 per cent at the beginning of the year, after which the dearness allowance had gone up to 34 per cent. Now with the increase in DA by 4 per cent, the dearness allowance will increase to 38 per cent.

Dearness allowance is revised twice a year.

Actually the dearness allowance of central government employees is revised twice a year. The first is given from January to June, while the second comes from July to December. Let us tell you that the AICPI index plays an important role in deciding the dearness allowance of central employees.

Lakhs of central government employees and pensioners waiting to increase Dearness Allowance (DA) are going to get good news soon. The central government, which has not yet given any official statement on increasing DA, can make an announcement before Dussehra.

According to, media reports say that the Modi government can give a big gift to its employees and pensioners on the auspicious occasion of Navratri. The central government announces to increase DA every 6 months, which is increased to provide relief to the pensioners to the employees relative to inflation. It is believed that on September 28, the cabinet meeting led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi can be approved for this.

Dearness Allowance may reach 38 percent Sources say that in view of the high rate of retail inflation, the government can increase the dearness allowance by 4 percent this time. After this, the DA will increase to 38 percent. Earlier in March 2022, the government had announced to increase DA, then it was increased by 3 percent. After this DA was increased from 31 per cent to 34 per cent. This time due to higher inflation rate, DA can also be increased more.

When will the government get the benefit

If the government announces to increase DA in September, then it is possible that this amount will be increased in the salary coming in October, while the arrears of the remaining month will be paid. 47 lakh central employees and 68 lakh pensioners will get its benefit. The increase in DA of employees is done according to their pay scale. The higher the basic salary, the more the dearness allowance increases.

By how much your salary will increase , suppose that the basic pay of an employee is 40 thousand rupees, then he now gets 34% of it i.e. Rs 13,600 as dearness allowance. If Dearness Allowance increases to 38 percent, then its total amount will also increase to Rs 15,200. In this way, the salary will increase by Rs 1,600 every month and will get Rs 19,200 more in a year.

The post 7th Pay Commission: May be announced to increase DA in Navratri!

Many state governments have given gifts to their employees by increasing the Dearness Allowance before the festival. But the Central Government employees are still waiting for the increase in Dearness Allowance (DA Hike). It is being said that the government can announce an increase in the DA of central employees in the beginning of September. But so far no official statement has come from the government on this. However, the government has definitely made it clear that the Eighth Pay Commission will not come for the time being.

DA was increased in March

The government changes the dearness allowance of central employees every six months. The last time the government increased the DA of employees by three percent in March 2022. After this, the DA of central employees was increased from 31 per cent to 34 per cent. At present, DA is being paid to central employees at the rate of 34 per cent.

Change happens every six months

According to media reports, the government can increase the DA of central employees by four percent. But when this will happen, the government has not said anything on it. Because the increase in DA in March is about to complete six months. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary had said in the Lok Sabha recently that the inflation rate is calculated on the basis of the All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (ACIPI). On this basis, the dearness allowance of the employees is changed every six months.

How much will the salary increase?

According to the calculation, if the government increases the DA of the employees from 34 percent to 38 percent, then there will be a big increase in the salary. At present, if the basic salary of an employee is Rs 18,000. At the rate of 34 per cent, the dearness allowance works out to Rs 6,120. If there is an increase of four per cent, then the DA will be Rs 6,840.

No official statement yet

If the government increases the DA by four per cent keeping in view the current inflation figures, then 50 lakh employees and 65 lakh pensioners will get the benefit. The DA given to government employees is part of their financial assistance salary structure. When will the government increase the DA of central employees? No official information has been revealed on this. However, according to media reports, the government can take a big decision on the increase in DA in September.

The post 7th Pay Commission: Will the DA of central employees not increase, when can the government take a decision? first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

7th pay commission: The increase in dearness allowance to government employees working under the central government has been approved. Dearness allowance of central employees is to be increased by 4 percent.

A formal announcement of this decision will be made in the meeting to be held at the end of September. Let us tell you that due to increase in DA, there is going to be a bumper increase in the salary of central employees.

how much will the salary increase

According to the pay matrix of 7th pay commission, there will be a bumper increase in the salary of officer grade. Here we have tried to calculate the increase in basic salary of a pensioner by Rs 31,550. You can also understand from this how much the salary will increase.

Basic Salary – Rs 31550
Dearness Allowance (estimated) – 38% – Rs 11,989 per month
Existing Dearness Allowance – 34% – Rs 10,727 On increase of
4% Dearness Allowance – Rs 1262 to increase every month
After Rs 15,144

Calculation at 38%

After increasing the dearness allowance at the rate of 4 percent, the total DA will become 38 percent. If we calculate it in the maximum salary range, then on the basic salary of Rs 56,900, Rs 21,622 will be available as DA every month. The total annual dearness allowance will be Rs 2,59,464.

Employees will get DA arrears

In the 7th Pay Commission, in the current structure, all central government employees and pensioners are being paid DA and DR at the rate of 34 percent. But, after September, payment will be made at the rate of 38 per cent. Three months dearness allowance will be paid along with the September salary. In this, DA arrears of July and August will also come.

Now if the fitment factor under 8th pay commission is 3.68 times then the minimum pay scale will be 26,000.

The month of August can be full of gifts for central employees (7th Pay Commission Central Government employees), next month employees can get many big gifts like dearness allowance, DA dues and fitment factor.

According to media reports, with the announcement of new DA in August, increasing the fitment factor can also be considered and it can be implemented from 1 September 2022. However, no formal announcement has been made by the government so far.

Actually, fitment factor is considered to play an important role in deciding the basic salary of central employees. The pay matrix prepared in the 7th Pay Commission is based on the fitment factor i.e. the revised basic pay based on the fitment factor is calculated from the old basic pay.

Due to this, the salary of central employees increases by more than two and a half times. The fitment factor is an important recommendation in the Pay Commission report, on the basis of which the increment will be decided.

According to media reports, at present, the central employees are getting the fitment factor at the rate of 2.57 percent and the employee organizations have been demanding to increase it for a long time, so there is a possibility that it can be increased to 3.68 percent. The cabinet meeting is to be held on August 3 under the chairmanship of PM Narendra Modi, in which the proposal of fitment factor can be considered.

If it is approved then the minimum basic pay will be 8000 and the basic pay will increase from 18000 to 26000. Last time the entry level basic pay was increased from Rs 7000 to Rs 18000 per month in 2017 and now it is increased. So it will be directly 26000.

According to media reports, the minimum pay scale under the Sixth Pay Commission was Rs 7,000 with a fitment factor of 1.86 times and an increment of 54%. Under the 7th Pay Commission, the minimum pay scale has gone up to Rs 18,000, with a fitment factor of 2.57 times and an increment of 14.29 per cent.

Now if the fitment factor under 8th pay commission is 3.68 times then the minimum pay scale will be 26,000. For example, if the basic pay of a central employee is Rs 18,000, then his salary excluding allowances would be 18,000 X 2.57 = profit of Rs 46,260. Salary on 3.68 will be Rs 95,680 (26000 X 3.68 = 95,680) i.e. Rs 49,420 in salary.

Will 8th pay commission be applicable

A big update has come to the fore regarding the 8th Pay Commission (8th Pay Commission) amidst speculations of a 6% increase in dearness allowance in August. According to media reports, after the 7th Pay Commission, now the 8th Pay Commission can come.

The late former finance minister Arun Jaitley had also indicated in a speech in Parliament in 2016 that if sources are to be believed, the Modi government may now introduce a new pay commission and it will be implemented from January 1, 2026. With its implementation, the minimum pay level matrix of central employees can start from Rs 1 to 26,000. However, there has been no confirmation from the government yet.

The post Employees will get good news again!
