This time dearness allowance and dearness relief are expected to increase by 4 percent. With this it will increase to 42 percent. Employees will get the benefit of both increased DA and arrears in the March salary.

Dearness Allowance will be increased by 4 percent

Central employees will get DA for both January and February along with salary. It is clear from the figures of AICPI that this time dearness allowance will increase by 4 percent. If sources are to be believed, from January 2023, DA will increase to 42 per cent. This will benefit 52 lakh central employees and 60 lakh pensioners.

Shiv Gopal Mishra, secretary of the National Council of JCM (JCM), says that the dearness allowance (DA) received under the 7th Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission DA Hike) is currently 38 percent, which will increase to 42 percent this time.

How much will the salary increase?

Under the 7th Pay Commission, the calculation of dearness allowance for employees and dearness relief allowance for pensioners is done on the basis of basic salary. For example, if someone’s basic salary is Rs 25,000, then he will get 42% DA on Rs 25,000. That is, 42 percent DA of 25,000 became DA Rs 10,500. On the basis of this, the DA of other central employees will also increase. You can also calculate it by gathering information about your basic salary.

Here is the calculation

Level 1 Basic pay: Rs 18000
42% DA ie Rs 7560 per month

Level 1 Basic pay: Rs 25000
42% DA i.e. Rs 10500 per month

There will be so much difference in salary.

Under the 7th Pay Commission, if your basic pay is Rs.18,000, then you get
dearness allowance of Rs.6,840 at the rate of 38 percent. But if the dearness allowance is 42 percent, it will increase to Rs 7560. Similarly, if you have a basic salary of Rs 25,000, then at present you will be getting dearness allowance of Rs 9,500. But with DA being 42 percent, it will increase to Rs 10,500.

Note: Here the calculation of increased DA has been done for example. Increase in DA also affects other allowances. In such a situation, there may be a difference in the final calculation.
