School Closed- There will be a flurry of holidays in the month of August. This month, 4 holidays are coming together. This week, children will have fun. These holidays will be different in different states.

According to the holiday calendar issued by the Punjab government, there will be three consecutive holidays on August 15, 16 and 17. This means that schools, colleges and government offices will be closed on Friday, Saturday and then Sunday.

The festival of Ploughing will be celebrated on August 14. Many states have declared a holiday on this day. The next day, i.e. August 15, Independence Day will be celebrated across the country, which is a national holiday.

Government offices, banks, schools and colleges will remain closed on this day. Then on August 16, the festival of Janmashtami will be celebrated, which is an important religious festival and will also be a holiday on this day. After this, August 17 will be a public holiday as it is a Sunday. Thus, there will be a long break of four days from August 14 to 17, which will be full of happiness for children as well as parents.

There are a total of five Sundays in the month of August, which are public holidays in themselves. Apart from this, there are several major festivals in this month, due to which the sequence of holidays will continue to be long. Festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi (27 August) and Haritalika Teej are the special festivals of this month.

In August, there will be Sunday holidays on August 17 and August 24. Apart from this, there will be holidays for Independence Day on August 15, Janmashtami on August 16, and Ganesh Chaturthi on August 27. In between all these holidays, weekend planning will become easier for students and parents and will also help children to balance studies and rest.

Sawan 2025: The month of Sawan has started. In this holy month of Sawan, devotees of Lord Shiva go on the Kawad Yatra. Keeping in mind the Kanwar Yatra, many states have decided to keep the schools of their districts closed on the first Monday of Sawan.

Due to the month of Sawan and Kanwar Yatra, a holiday has been declared in schools on Monday, July 14 in many districts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. During Sawan, crores of devotees travel on foot carrying water from the holy river for Lord Shiva, which increases the crowd and traffic on the roads. For this reason, the administration has taken this decision as a precaution.

For this reason, holidays have been declared on different dates in some districts. At the same time, an order has been issued to keep all government and private schools closed on every Monday of Sawan in Varanasi and Badaun.

Varanasi: In view of the Kanwar Yatra and the huge crowd of devotees in Varanasi during Sawan, the administration has decided to keep all government and private schools closed every Monday. Instructions have been given to keep those schools closed which are located near the Kanwar routes, so that traffic and security system remains in place during the journey and no one faces inconvenience.

Badaun: In Badaun district too, a decision has been taken to declare holiday in schools on every Monday of Sawan so that children and school staff do not face any problem due to the crowd of devotees.

Bareilly: Holiday has been declared in schools in Bareilly on every Monday of Sawan, because on this day devotees reach in large numbers to offer water in major Shiva temples like Saptnath, Guldiya Gaurishankar and Siddh Gopal Baba. The administration has taken this decision keeping in mind the crowd and security arrangements.

Haridwar: Keeping in mind the increasing number of devotees and security arrangements during the Kanwar Yatra in Haridwar, the administration has decided to keep all schools and Anganwadi centers closed from July 14 to 23. This decision has been taken so that there is no problem in the movement of Kanwariyas and school children.

Nuh: A holiday has been ordered in schools in Haryana’s Nuh district on July 14. This decision has been taken in view of the activities of Jalabhishek Yatra and Kanwar Yatra going on in the area, so that the Yatra can be completed peacefully.

Ujjain: A large number of devotees visit Ujjain to visit Lord Mahakal during the month of Sawan. In view of this, the administration has decided to keep all schools closed on every Monday from July 14 to August 11, so that students and school staff do not face any problems amid the crowd and traffic.

The post Schools Closed: Schools will remain closed on Monday in these states of the country, see the complete list first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

Schools Closed Today. Due to heavy rains across the country on 7 July 2025, schools have been closed in many districts of Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Earlier there was confusion whether Muharram holiday would be available on 07 July 2025 or not. At the same time, now the children have fun due to the alert of heavy rain. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy to very heavy rains in many states from 6 to 12 July, due to which the local administration has declared holidays in schools keeping in mind the safety of the children.

It has been raining heavily since morning in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Along with the drop in temperature, a few hours of rain has increased the problem of waterlogging (Aaj Ka Mausam). In such a situation, it is a big problem for children to reach school. Schools are open despite heavy rain in Delhi-NCR.

Rainy Day: School closed in rain

Karnataka: Due to heavy rains in Kodagu (Coorg) district, a holiday has been declared for all schools and colleges on July 7. In other areas of Karnataka, especially South Karnataka, there is a heavy rain alert between July 6 and 9-12, due to which the local administration may decide to close the schools.

Chhattisgarh: Schools closed on July 7 due to heavy rains in Jagdalpur. IMD has warned of extremely heavy rains in Chhattisgarh on July 6-7, due to which schools may be closed in other districts as well. Children can call the school to know the latest updates.

Rajasthan: Eastern Rajasthan (Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Bharatpur, Udaipur) is likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall on July 7-9. Schools have already been closed due to rain in some districts like Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Bharatpur and Dausa. Light to moderate rain is expected in Western Rajasthan (Jodhpur, Bikaner).

Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana: There is an alert of heavy rain in these states from 6-12 July. Floods, landslides and cloudbursts have been occurring in Himachal Pradesh for the last several days. Schools have been closed in many districts for the last few days.

Schools Closed in Maharashtra: Schools closed in Maharashtra

Schools have been ordered closed in Maharashtra due to rain on 7 July 2025. The IMD has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rains in many parts of Maharashtra, especially Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Vidarbha regions from 6-12 July. Schools and colleges will remain closed due to heavy rains in Palghar, Maharashtra. Palghar District Collector Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar has declared a holiday in all schools, colleges, coaching centers and other educational institutions in the district on 7 July 2025 under the Disaster Management Act 2005.

Schools Closed Tomorrow: Get updates from school for tomorrow

The decision to close schools has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the students. Heavy rains can lead to waterlogging, landslides and traffic disruptions. Teachers and non-teaching staff have been asked to remain present in schools to assist in disaster management. Residents have been advised to remain alert, stay away from flowing water and follow the instructions of the administration. Schools may also be closed on July 8 depending on the weather conditions.

During this period, all government schools in Delhi will remain closed. The circular clearly states that if necessary, the summer holidays can be extended further. However, this will depend on the weather. Along with this, remedial classes will be held for students of classes 9 to 12 (from 07.30 am to 10.30 am).

What to do during summer vacations?

Summer vacations have been announced in government and private schools in Delhi. Summer vacations in all states last for 30-45 days. If students want, they can complete their course during this time, complete their homework or even go somewhere outside. During this time, many students also join hobby courses.

Take care of your health

Summer vacations are declared when the heat rises in the state. Its clear objective is to protect children from extreme heat. Young children can suffer from heat stroke while going to school. During the changing weather, most children complain of feeling unwell. In such a situation, they get the opportunity to stay home when the summer vacation begins. During this time, children should avoid going out in the sun. If necessary, go out well covered and keep drinking water at regular intervals.

The post School Holiday: Summer vacations have been announced in private schools of Delhi NCR.

Schools Closed in Delhi NCR Manipur- India is seeing a big difference in the weather of different states at the same time. Cold weather is setting in in North India while a red alert for heavy rain has been issued in South India.

In view of these circumstances, schools are closed for various reasons in different states. The hybrid mode will be in effect in schools in Delhi-NCR till Monday, meaning that classes can also be held in online mode.

The weather of different states of India can be estimated from the fact that the level of pollution has increased in many cities including Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Faridabad since October. With the onset of winter, fog has also started appearing in North India. Along with this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in South India due to the impact of Cyclone Fengal. From Delhi, Manipur to Chennai and Puducherry, the decision to close schools has been taken for various reasons.

Delhi Schools Closed: Are schools closed in Delhi?

After the holidays of Diwali and Chhath Puja in Delhi, the students were getting adjusted in school, then like every year, the pollution level suddenly started increasing this time too. Many places including Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Faridabad recorded AQI between 500-1800. In this situation, the Supreme Court had ordered the closure of schools in Delhi-NCR as soon as Group 4 came into force. Currently, the schools of Delhi-NCR will remain on hybrid mode till Monday.

Manipur Schools Reopening: When will schools reopen in Manipur?

Schools in Imphal Valley and Jiribam were closed for two weeks after the Manipur violence. Now, an order has been issued to open schools and colleges from today i.e. 29 November 2024. All the schools and colleges in these two places were closed for the last 13 days. The N Biren Singh government of the state has announced the opening of schools. The decision to resume classes in schools and other educational institutions has been taken on the advice of the home department.

Chennai Schools Closed: Why are schools closed in Chennai and Puducherry?

A red alert has been issued across Tamil Nadu including Chennai due to Cyclone Fengal. Due to this, schools, colleges and other educational institutions have been ordered to remain closed in many places in South India including Chennai. The government has decided to close schools and colleges in the Union Territory of Puducherry.

Schools Closed. Delhi-NCR and many adjoining cities are in the grip of pollution. For the last several days, schools in many cities including Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurugram, Hapur are closed.

In most places, schools were ordered to remain closed till 23 November 2024 (Saturday). However, now an order has been issued to keep the schools of Noida closed till 25 November (Monday). A written notice has been received in this regard.

Parents were waiting for advance notice from schools since this morning. Everyone wanted to know whether Noida schools will open on Monday, November 25, 2024 or will remain closed. Gautam Buddha Nagar School District Inspector Dr. Dharamveer Singh has issued a notice and put an end to the speculations about school opening for the time being. It has become clear that now the next notice for opening of schools will come on Monday, November 25, 2024.

Noida schools closed

The previous order to close Noida schools was issued on 18 November 2024. It was clearly written in it that physical classes from pre-school to 12th will remain closed till 23 November 2024 (Saturday). Now this order has been extended and holidays have been extended till 25 November. Most of the schools in Noida will have online classes on Monday as well. This will not harm the studies of the children and will help in completing the syllabus on time.

What is the situation in Delhi?

There is no update on the schools of Delhi and Ghaziabad at the moment. The AQI has been recorded above 450 for the last several days in the country’s capital Delhi. In view of this, Grape 4 was implemented in Delhi. Schools were also closed under this. The order is currently awaited whether the schools of Delhi will open from Monday or not. Parents are advised that they can also get information by calling or messaging the school.

Considering the serious situation of air pollution in Delhi and nearby areas, the government has decided to close all primary schools until further orders. To ensure that children’s education is not disrupted, the Delhi government has decided to shift all primary schools to online mode.

Chief Minister Atishi Marlena has given this information through a post on X. Let us tell you that the AQI level (Air Quality Index) in Delhi has remained above 400 for the past few days. Due to this, problems like irritation in eyes and difficulty in breathing have started appearing due to exposure to open air. Along with this, implementation of GRAP-3 in Delhi NCR has also been announced. It will come into effect from November 15, under which several strict restrictions will be imposed.

Chief Minister Atishi announced today on X, “Due to rising pollution levels, all primary schools in Delhi will conduct online classes till further orders.” Atishi also holds the Education Department. Air quality in the national capital remained in the ‘severe’ category for the second day in a row, prompting authorities to implement stricter anti-pollution measures. These restrictions will come into effect from Friday.

After Chief Minister Atishi Marlena directed the closure of primary schools in view of increasing air pollution, the Education Directorate of Delhi Government has also issued an order in this regard. The Directorate of Education has issued an order to close schools due to pollution. Until further orders, physical classes in schools up to class V will remain closed. Instructions have been issued for conducting online classes. This decision was taken after CAQM implemented GRAP 3 due to increased pollution.

An important information has come for the students and parents of Haryana. The state government has officially announced that all government and private schools will remain closed on the upcoming 4th October and 5th October 2024.

This decision has been taken to make the voting process for the Haryana Assembly elections smooth. In this regard, written orders have also been issued by the district administration of the respective districts.

Reason for school closure

Keeping in mind the assembly elections to be held in Haryana, the administration has decided that all schools will be kept closed. Actually, many schools have been set up as polling stations. The administration needs time for the necessary preparations to set up polling stations in schools. Therefore, it has been decided to close the schools a day in advance.

Voting date and preparations

The voting date for Haryana Assembly Election 2024 is 5th October 2024. On this day voters will exercise their right to elect their representatives. But to make the voting process smooth and systematic, schools will be closed from October 4 itself. The administration aims to prepare the polling stations a day in advance so that no problems are faced during voting.

Suggestions for students and parents

This decision will affect all students, whether they study in government schools or private schools. Parents have been advised to use this time for their children’s studies. This holiday gives students extra time, which they can use in their studies or other activities. Meanwhile, on the day of voting, all voters should ensure that they reach their polling station on time. This will not only give them an opportunity to cast their vote, but it is also an important part of participation in the process of democracy.

Preparation of polling stations

The decision to close schools on October 4 has also been taken so that polling stations can be prepared according to all the requirements. Under this, the necessary facilities for voting in schools, such as ballot boxes, voting equipment, and security arrangements, will be ensured. The administration is taking this process very seriously so that there is no problem on the polling day.

This decision of the Haryana government is important not only for the students but for the entire society. This is a necessary step to make the voting process smooth. Students and parents should use this opportunity properly and understand the importance of voting. This election is not only the election of representatives but also our responsibility towards democracy. All citizens are requested to use their franchise properly and play an active role in this process of democracy.

Schools Closed: Due to the scorching heat, it has been decided to extend the summer vacation of schools in many states. The summer holidays were about to end in these states but due to the scorching heat and heat wave, the schools will be closed for now.

Severe heat continues in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Telangana and even Goa, so the educational authorities have taken this step to prioritize the safety of the students.

Tamil Nadu schools closed till June 10

Due to the intense heat wave across the country, authorities in Tamil Nadu have decided to extend the summer holidays for schools. The School Education Department has announced the date of reopening of schools to be changed from June 6 to June 10. Tamil Nadu Director of School Education G. Arivoli has confirmed that the decision covers all educational institutions, including government, aided and private schools.

Schools will not open till June 11 in Telangana and Puducherry too

Telangana has announced the reopening of schools on June 12 for the 2024-25 academic year after summer vacations. Similarly, the Union Territory of Puducherry, which includes areas such as Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam, has extended the date for reopening of schools from June 6 to June 12 due to the scorching heat. Director of School Education P. Priyadarshini stressed that the decision applies to all government, privately managed and CBSE-affiliated schools. Rising temperatures in Puducherry, as well as less rainfall, have worsened the situation, leaving residents facing scorching heat.

Schools closed again in Bihar

The Bihar government has decided to close the schools due to the scorching heat. This decision was taken after the health of the girl students deteriorated and they fainted in many schools last Wednesday. On Wednesday, about 50 girl students fainted due to heat in the schools of Begusarai and Sheikhpura, many of whom had to be admitted to the hospital. Due to the scorching heat, CM Nitish Kumar has issued instructions to close the schools. It has been decided to keep the schools closed from 30 May to 08 June 2024.

The severity of cold has increased in almost every district of Uttar Pradesh. There is a continuous downward trend in maximum as well as minimum temperatures. Along with the harsh winter, the incidence of fog is also increasing. Due to the nature of weather, normal life has completely derailed.

Along with rail, road and air traffic has also been affected due to fog. Meanwhile, considering the situation in various districts of Uttar Pradesh, decisions are being taken continuously regarding closing and opening of schools. In this sequence, the District Collector of Jalaun had given orders to close the schools. After which a new order has been issued by the District Education Department.

DM of Jalaun ordered closure of schools from nursery to class 8 in the district. According to the order issued by the Education Department after the order of the District Magistrate, schools up to class 8 will remain closed till January 6, 2024. In the order issued by District School Inspector Rajkumar Pandit, instructions have been given to close down government and government-aided schools as well as madrassas.

The order clearly states that teaching work in schools will remain closed for students up to class 8 till January 6. According to the weather patterns, further decision will be taken after the fixed date.

Schools from 9 to 12 will remain open

The District School Inspector has made separate provision for schools from class 9th to 12th. It has been said in the new order that the education work of students from class 9 to 12 will continue as normal as before. Schools will not be closed for students from class 8 onwards. They will keep coming to school. Earlier in December also, orders were issued in many districts of Uttar Pradesh to stop teaching work in schools from class 1 to 8. In view of the change in weather patterns and winter, a new order has been issued again in January 2024.

In the order from the District Education Department, important things have also been said regarding teachers. District School Inspector Rajkumar Pandit said in his order that teachers of all the schools in the district will continue to come to school at their scheduled time and will continue the work of teaching students from classes 9 to 12 as before. Let us tell you that in many districts of Uttar Pradesh the temperature has gone below 5 degrees Celsius. Due to this, normal life has derailed. The transport system has also been badly affected due to fog.

The latest update in this regard is that schools in some districts of Himachal Pradesh have been closed in view of the danger of landslides and floods. The government has passed an order in this regard. This order has been issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Kinnaur district. Under this, all government, private schools, pre schools and Anganwadi centers will remain closed till 22 July 2023. This order is applicable to all the schools of Sub-Division Nichar and Tehsil Nangla.

Schools Closed Due To Heatwave: Nowadays summer is in full swing and there is still time to start summer vacation. In states where schools are closing very early, summer vacations will not start before the month of May.

But the way the mercury is rising day by day and the heatwave is increasing, it is not safe for children to go to school in such conditions. In view of these circumstances, schools in West Bengal have been closed for a week. This rule will be applicable from today i.e. 17th April and will be applicable till 23rd April 2023 i.e. schools will remain closed till this date.

Notice issued

West Bengal School Education Department and Department of Higher Education have passed the order to close the school. This rule applies equally to all schools. That is, along with state-run schools, private schools will also follow this rule. Schools will be reopened from Monday, 24th April or any notice regarding this will be released again. Until a new notice comes, this will be considered as the final order.

The rule will not apply here

This rule will be applicable to all areas of West Bengal only Darjeeling and Kalimpong will not come under its purview as they are hilly areas. The academic schedule which was already running here will continue. Teaching and non-teaching staff can take leave in special cases.

Higher Education Department also issued an order

West Bengal Department of Higher Education has also issued the order. Under this, all the state, government-aided and private universities and colleges here will remain closed for a week. Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts will not come under this rule. Colleges and universities will remain closed from 17 to 23 April 2023 due to heatwave.
