UIDAI Update: UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India), the nodal agency that issues Aadhaar numbers, has clarified that no Aadhaar number has been cancelled. UIDAI said that people are informed from time to time to update the Aadhaar database but no Aadhaar number has been cancelled.

UIDAI wrote on the Grievances and Feedback page on its website that Aadhaar is used as a digital identity through which subsidies, benefits and services are availed. In such a situation, to keep the Aadhaar database accurate, UIDAI has launched several campaigns to update documents and Aadhaar information. For this, Aadhaar number holders are informed from time to time. In such a situation, it is clarified that no Aadhaar number has been cancelled. UIDAI said that if Aadhaar number holders have any complaint, they can submit their feedback here. Their complaints will be resolved. UIDAI has shared the link https://uidai.gov.in/en/contact-support/feedback.html.

Mamta Banerjee wrote a letter to PM

The clarification from UIDAI has come when West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the Central Government of deactivating the Aadhaar of the people of the state before the Lok Sabha elections. He said that the Central Government is preventing people from availing the benefits of social welfare schemes before the Lok Sabha elections. Mamta Banerjee has also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding this.

In fact, these things had come to the notice of UIDAI that Aadhaar card holders do not know which mobile number is linked with their Aadhaar. In such a situation, citizens are worried that the OTP coming on Aadhaar is not going to any other mobile number. But due to this facility of UIDAI, Aadhaar holders will be able to easily check which mobile number is linked with their Aadhaar.

To verify the mobile number and email ID, one has to visit the official website of UIDAI https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in or mAadhaar app and click on verify email/mobile number. With this, citizens will be able to know which mobile number or email ID is linked with their Aadhaar. If any other number is linked with Aadhaar, it can be easily traced and Aadhaar card holders will be able to update their numbers.

If the mobile is already verified then a message will appear that the mobile number entered is already verified in our records. If a citizen does not know which mobile number he/she had given during enrollment for Aadhaar, then he/she can verify it by entering the last three digits of the mobile number by visiting the Myaadhaar portal or mAadhaar app and going to the Verify Aadhaar feature.

If citizens want to link or update email or mobile number with their Aadhaar, then they have to visit the Aadhaar center.

Aadhar card owners can now easily update their addresses on the aadhaar card. As a verification of their residential address, they will have to provide supporting documents.

UIDAI has made the update process easy. Apart from the residency document from the cardholder, the officials will also check the address of the applicant.

Update Address on Aadhar Card in this easy way:

Visit the official website of UIDAI https://www.uidai.gov.in/.

Next find the ‘My Aadhaar’ menu.

Select ‘Update Your Aadhaar’ from the menu.

– Then, from the list of options, select ‘update demographics data online’.

The redesigned interface for Aadhar Card Self Service Portal will appear on your screen.

Now select the option ‘Proceed to update Aadhaar’.

As required, enter your Aadhar card number and finish the captcha verification.

– Next, select ‘Send OTP’.

OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number.

After OTP verification go to ‘Update Demographics Data’ option.

To change now, use the address option.

Now to make changes, use the address option.

Enter the details of your new address so that it appears on your Aadhar card.

Supporting document proof should be uploaded as a scanned copy.

– Select Proceed

Verify that all the information entered is correct.
