Aadhaar Update: Mamata Banerjee has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi accusing him of deactivating the Aadhaar of many people in the state.

UIDAI Update: UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India), the nodal agency that issues Aadhaar numbers, has clarified that no Aadhaar number has been cancelled. UIDAI said that people are informed from time to time to update the Aadhaar database but no Aadhaar number has been cancelled.

No Aadhar November canceled

UIDAI wrote on the Grievances and Feedback page on its website that Aadhaar is used as a digital identity through which subsidies, benefits and services are availed. In such a situation, to keep the Aadhaar database accurate, UIDAI has launched several campaigns to update documents and Aadhaar information. For this, Aadhaar number holders are informed from time to time. In such a situation, it is clarified that no Aadhaar number has been cancelled. UIDAI said that if Aadhaar number holders have any complaint, they can submit their feedback here. Their complaints will be resolved. Mamta Banerjee wrote a letter to PM

The clarification from UIDAI has come when West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the Central Government of deactivating the Aadhaar of the people of the state before the Lok Sabha elections. He said that the Central Government is preventing people from availing the benefits of social welfare schemes before the Lok Sabha elections. Mamta Banerjee has also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding this.
