North India is experiencing unseasonal rain and cold. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for many states, while Delhi will have light fog and moderate temperature.

IMD Alert: Due to western disturbance, heavy rains are occurring in the hilly areas of the country including Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Rain and snowfall have been observed in Jammu region and Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of rain and thunderstorms in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh today.

According to the Meteorological Department, a new western disturbance is becoming active, due to which there may be snowfall in the hilly areas on March 4.

Weather pattern in North India

Due to unseasonal rains in North India, a slight cold is being felt in the morning and evening. An orange alert has been issued for Jammu, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, while there is a yellow alert for rain in Uttarakhand. Rain warnings have also been issued in northeastern states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland.

The maximum temperature in Delhi today is expected to be around 30 degrees. The minimum temperature can be between 13 degrees and the maximum temperature can be between 29 degrees Celsius. Also, light fog can also be seen.

The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in the districts around Lucknow and eastern Uttar Pradesh from tomorrow. More than 35 districts of UP may receive rain in the next five-six days from Sunday. Drizzle will start in eastern UP including Lucknow from Sunday. However, the districts of the western region will have to wait for rain.

Temperature will fall here

According to the information given by Lucknow Meteorological Center, the heat wave will continue to wreak havoc in Lucknow, Barabanki, Hardoi, Kanpur city, Kanpur rural, Lakhimpur Kheri, Jhansi, Agra, Gorakhpur, Ballia Churuk, Bahraich, Fatehpur, Banda, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Mathura, Fursatganj, Ghazipur, Fatehgarh and Basti for the next three days. The maximum temperature can remain between 38 to 40 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature is forecast to be between 27 to 29 degree Celsius.

There will be movement of clouds in these districts.

According to the information given by Lucknow Meteorological Center, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Jhansi, Agra and Bundelkhand will remain hot in entire Uttar Pradesh today. The maximum temperature here is forecast to remain between 41 to 39 degrees Celsius today. The minimum temperature here can remain between 28 to 29 degrees.

Winds will blow in these districts

Orai, Hamirpur, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Najibabad, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Agra, Aligarh and Etawah. Today the temperature is forecast to be between 38 to 39 degree Celsius in Azamgarh, Noida, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Saharanpur, Barabanki, Kannauj and Hardoi. The minimum temperature here will also be between 28 to 29 degree Celsius.

• Heavy Monsoon rains and thunderstorms are likely over Northeast India from June 17-21. Similarly, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning very likely over South India during next five days.
• Scattered rain may occur in Delhi. Scattered to fairly widespread rain and thundershowers are also likely over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during this period.
