Rules changed for waiting ticket passengers

Indian Railways used to allow passengers travelling with waiting tickets to board sleeper and AC coaches and travel. But now the Railways has changed the rules for this. Now any passenger with a waiting ticket will be able to travel in a reserved coach. That is, if someone has made a reservation.

And the ticket has gone into waiting list. Then you can neither travel in sleeper nor in any AC coach. If you travel in sleeper and AC coach. Then you will have to pay a hefty fine. Not only this, the TTE can catch you and throw you out of sleeper and AC coach.

You will have to pay this much fine

If you travel on a waiting ticket and you enter a reserved coach, then for this you have to pay a fine according to the coach. If you travel in an AC coach on a waiting ticket, then you have to pay a fine of Rs 440 and the fare till the next station. If you are caught in a sleeper coach, then you have to pay a fine of Rs 250 and the fare till the next station.
