It was told that similar conditions are likely to continue in the lower parts of the country including Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu from April 1 to 4.

Yellow alert for 10 districts
People of Odisha are likely to get relief from the heat as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunderstorms and rain in several districts during the next four days. Manorama Mohanty, Director of Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, said that on Tuesday, there will be rain with thunder and lightning at some places in Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nupada, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Bodh and Angul districts and strong winds will blow at a speed of 30-40 kmph. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert (be careful) for these districts.
Temperatures crossed 42 degrees Celsius, according to the Meteorological Department, such weather will continue in many places in Odisha till April 4. On Monday, the maximum temperature in seven places in the state was above 40 degrees Celsius. Jharsuguda was the hottest place at 42 degrees Celsius, Bolangir recorded 41.2 degrees Celsius and Bodh 42.1 degrees Celsius. Other places that recorded temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius include Titlagarh (41), Sambalpur and Sundargarh (40.6), and Bhawanipatna (40.2).
