1. The UMANG App Solution (The Best Backup)
The UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) app is the single best way to check your balance because it bypasses the direct EPFO website issues. It’s often the quickest way to get a clean passbook.

The Path: Download the UMANG app (iOS/Android). Search for EPFO. Select ‘View Passbook.’

The Kicker: You’ll enter your UAN and verify with the OTP sent to your registered mobile. Once linked, you can view your balance, download your e-Passbook, and even file claims.

2. The Correct Missed Call Number & KYC Check
The source content used an older number. The current, widely used missed call service number is different, and it absolutely requires clean data to work.

The Number: Give a missed call from your UAN-registered mobile number to 9966044425. The call will auto-disconnect.

The Fix: This service is totally free, but it requires that your UAN is seeded with at least one of these KYC details: Bank Account Number, Aadhaar, or PAN. If it’s failing, check your KYC status first.
3. The Regional WhatsApp Strategy
This is for personalized help. You can’t just send your UAN to the general SMS number on WhatsApp; you need to find the specific contact for your office.

The Contact: The helpline number is not a single national number. You must find the dedicated WhatsApp Helpline number for your specific Regional EPFO Office where your PF account is maintained.

The Method: Send a message to that number. Just state your query about your balance or UAN clearly.
Offline & Last-Resort Options
If the digital world is completely blocked, you still have your money.

Go to HR: Ask your company’s HR/Finance department to provide or print a statement for you. They have access to the Employer’s side of the EPFO portal.

Visit the Office: Visit your Regional EPFO office. Take your UAN, ID proof, and registered mobile. They can look up your balance and print a statement for you there.
