7th pay commission: After the Centre, now different state governments have started increasing dearness allowance (DA) for employees and dearness relief (DR) for pensioners.
In this series, the Haryana government increased dearness allowance for its employees and dearness relief for pensioners by two percent. This has increased it from 53 percent to 55 percent of their basic salary.
Arrears will also be available
An official statement said that this increase will be effective from January 1, 2025. Citing the order of the Finance Department, the statement said that the revised DA and DR will be given with the salary/pension of April 2025. The arrears for the period from January 2025 to March 2025 will be paid in May. This means that arrears of three months will be given.
Gujarat government also gave a gift
Earlier, the Gujarat government announced a 2 to 6 percent increase in dearness allowance of employees and pensioners under the Seventh and Sixth Pay Commission. The government approved the proposal to increase DA by two percent for employees under the Seventh Pay Commission and six percent for employees under the Sixth Pay Commission. The decision will benefit about 4.78 lakh employees and 4.81 lakh pensioners. It said that since this increase will be effective from January 1, 2025, the state government will release the arrears of January, February and March in a single installment along with the salary of April.
Uttar Pradesh government announced
Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government increased the dearness allowance (DA) of state employees by two percent. The DA of state employees has been increased from 53 percent to 55 percent, which will be applicable from January 1, 2025. This decision will provide great relief to the state government employees. About 16 lakh employees will benefit from this increase.
-The Rajasthan government has decided to increase the dearness allowance of state employees by two percent. This will benefit 12 lakh 40 thousand employees and pensioners. Now, under the seventh pay scale in the state, the dearness allowance or dearness relief payable to state employees and pensioners will be increased from 53 percent to 55 percent from January 1.
