PM Jan Dhan Account: In the year 2014, the Modi government started the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) to connect the countrymen with the bank. Under this scheme, anyone can open his bank account on Zero Balance Bank Account. Now the government has made many changes in this scheme. People who have opened an account under the scheme can now get an amount up to Rs 10,000 from these accounts.

How can you get this amount deposited in your account? Know the whole process.

    Poor will get overdraft

This scheme of the central government is like a boon for the poor. The biggest feature of this scheme is that you can apply for overdraft on your account. Any account holder can take advantage of the overdraft facility, but for this, you will have to contact your bank manager. Overdraft facility is a type of loan. After contacting the branch, the bank can give you an overdraft, which you can easily withdraw with an ATM card or UPI.

Interest is to be paid on a daily basis in the overdraft facility. If you deposit the payment again in OD, then you do not have to pay interest on that amount. Earlier, the bank used to provide overdraft facility of Rs 5 thousand in PM Jan Dhan accounts. Now it has been increased to 10 thousand rupees. To take advantage of overdraft, your Jan Dhan account should be at least 6 months old.

    open account like this

You can open an account under this scheme of the government. For this you will just need Aadhar card and PAN card. In this scheme, the account of children above the age of 10 years can be opened. On opening the account, the account holder gets a Rupay debit card. You also get an insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh on this card. Along with this, a life insurance cover of Rs 30,000 is also given.

Millions of accounts opened so far

In this scheme of the government, accounts of 46.25 crore beneficiaries have been opened so far. The number of accounts under this scheme in March 2015 was only 14.72 crore. At the same time, by 10 August 2022, the number of these accounts has increased three times to 46.25 crores.
