So, if you get hold of such fake notes, then it will be easy to identify them with the help of these.
The Home Ministry has issued a high alert saying that a new type of fake Rs 500 notes are circulating in the market. This alert has been shared with major financial and regulatory bodies like DRI, FIU, CBI, NIA, SEBI. The alert warns that the fake notes are very similar to the real notes in terms of quality and print, making them difficult to identify. Their color and texture are also very similar to the real notes.
What is the difference between the two notes?
The Home Ministry has said that although the fake notes are very similar to the real 500 rupee notes, there is a spelling mistake in it, due to which it can be identified. In the fake 500 rupee note, this mistake is in the sentence ‘RESERVE BANK OF INDIA’, where ‘A’ has been written by mistake instead of ‘E’ in ‘RESERVE’.
A small mistake and you will suffer loss.
A senior official said that this small mistake can be missed by any eye. This is the reason why these fake notes are considered very dangerous and are becoming viral in the market very fast. The government has also issued a high alert to banks and other financial institutions and has also issued pictures to them to identify fake currency. Banks have been told to inform the investigation agencies as soon as they come across such notes.
A large consignment of fake notes has already reached the market
Agencies have warned that a large consignment of fake notes has already reached the market. Therefore, officials have urged citizens and institutions to be vigilant and report any suspicious currency. They say that it is not possible for any agency to know how many fake notes are circulating in the market. This is the reason why the Home Ministry is very concerned about this and has also asked people to remain alert.
The government has created a system to detect fake notes.
The government is constantly updating the system to identify fake notes and prevent them from entering the market. The government said that National Investigation Agency (NIA), FICN Coordination Group (FCORD) and Terror Financing and Fake Currency (TFFC) Cell have also been formed to prevent this. Apart from this, machines have been installed in all bank branches/identified back offices and currency chest branches to detect fake notes.
