India has taken a big action against a Pakistani officer working in the Pakistan High Commission. The Indian government has declared him ‘persona non grata’ after he was found involved in anti-national activities. Regarding this, the Ministry of External Affairs has issued a press release on Tuesday. In the press release, the Ministry of External Affairs said that this officer was working in the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi and his activities were not in accordance with his official status.

What is ‘persona non grata’

Persona non grata means ‘person unwanted’. It is a diplomatic or legal term used to declare a person unwanted by a country or organization. This means that the person is not allowed to stay in or enter that country and may have to leave the country.
