Get this work done, otherwise you will not be able to book Tatkal tickets
If you want to book Tatkal train tickets from 1 July 2025, then it becomes necessary for you to link your Aadhar card with your IRCTC account. If you do not do this, then you will not be able to book Tatkal train tickets from July 1.
Actually, Indian Railways took this decision recently and users were asked to link their Aadhaar card with their IRCTC account. This was done to bring transparency in Tatkal train ticket booking. People are not able to get Tatkal train tickets, so this has been done to stop bot/agent based ticket booking and to run the services smoothly.
This is the way to link IRCTC account with Aadhar card:-
First step
If you have not linked your Aadhaar card to your IRCTC account yet, then get it done
For this, first of all you have to visit the official website of IRCTC irctc.co.in/nget/train-search or app
Then you have to go to the ‘Account’ section here.
Second step
After this, you have to click on the option ‘Authenticate user’
Now you will get the option to link your Aadhaar card and PAN card
In such a case, you have to click on the Aadhaar card and enter your Aadhaar number
After this, OTP will be sent to the number linked with Aadhaar, enter it and then your Aadhaar will be linked to your IRCTC account
