CNG Rate Today: CNG prices in the country have increased by a total of ₹6 per kilogram in just the last 11-12 days. The last increase was a direct ₹2 per kilogram on May 26th.
CNG Rate Today on May 29: Fuel prices in India were raised on Monday for the fourth time in ten days. Petrol prices were increased by ₹2.61 per liter and diesel by ₹2.71. State-owned oil marketing companies are raising rates in installments to offset ongoing losses.
How much has the price of petrol and diesel increased?
With this, the retail price of petrol in Delhi has risen to ₹102.12 per liter, while diesel is now priced at ₹95.20. Similarly, in Kolkata, petrol prices have risen to ₹113.51 per liter, and diesel is now priced at ₹99.82.
In Mumbai, the price of petrol increased to Rs 111.21 per liter, while diesel reached Rs 97.83.
In Chennai, petrol is selling for ₹107.77 and diesel for ₹99.55 per liter. In Delhi, petrol prices have now crossed the ₹100 mark. In several other metropolises, it is touching ₹110 or more. In Bengaluru and Hyderabad, prices have surpassed ₹110 and ₹115 per liter, respectively.
What is the government saying?
Meanwhile, the central government has stated that there is no fuel shortage in the country and that India has sufficient reserves to deal with the current global crisis. Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has stated that if retail prices are not revised periodically, prolonged high crude oil prices could lead to significant losses for oil marketing companies.

How much has the price increased so far?
CNG prices were also raised across the country recently. In May, CNG prices were increased by ₹6 per kilogram within just 11-12 days. Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) and other oil companies increased prices four times this month.
May 15 – Rs 2 per kg
May 17 – Increase of Rs 1 per kg in Delhi
May 23 – Rate again increased by Rs 1 per kg in Delhi-NCR.
May 26 – Rs 2 per kg
However, even after the recent price hike, CNG remains cheaper than petrol and diesel. In Delhi, CNG is about ₹19 cheaper than petrol. Petrol costs ₹102.12 per liter in Delhi, while CNG costs ₹83.09 per kg. This represents a price difference of ₹19.03. The same applies to diesel, with a price difference of about ₹12.
