Tensions between the US and Iran have escalated. Iran attacked a US Apache helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, prompting US forces to strike several Iranian targets. The US military has struck Iranian air defenses, ground control centers, and surveillance radar sites. Iran responded with a drone attack on the US Fifth Fleet on Wednesday.

America said – the army is alert

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) issued a statement on Wednesday saying that in response to the downing of an Apache helicopter on Tuesday, the military conducted self-defense strikes against Iran at the direction of the commander-in-chief. CENTCOM said, “Air Force and Navy fighter aircraft using precision-guided weapons struck Iranian air defenses, ground control centers, and surveillance radar sites near Hormuz. The military remains vigilant and prepared to defend against any unwarranted Iranian aggression.”

America launched a 3-round attack

Explosions were heard in Jask and Bandar Abbas in Iran. Furthermore, explosions were heard again on Qeshm Island. Earlier, explosions were heard in Sirik, another location in southern Iran. Two water tanks were also damaged in the Bemani district. The US military has carried out three rounds of strikes in Iran. The IRGC has confirmed the attacks in Jask, Sirik, and Qeshm Island.

Iran responded

Following the US strikes, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the US had chosen to “test Tehran’s resolve” and that the Iranian armed forces would not remain silent in responding to any attack or threat. He added, “If you want to be safe, leave our territory.” Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed to have responded with a drone attack on the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.

Iran targeted Apache yesterday

The US has deployed Apache helicopters off the coast of Oman near the Strait of Hormuz as part of the blockade, one of which was shot down by Iranian forces on Tuesday. The two pilots on board somehow survived. President Donald Trump later confirmed the incident and threatened a retaliatory strike. Iran launched the attack after US forces disabled an oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman.
