Aadhaar Card cannot be considered a valid document for proof of date of birth in jobs and enrollment in educational institutions etc. The state government has given information about the clarification issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) in this regard and has asked to comply with it.
Regarding this, the Department of Information Technology and e-Governance has written a letter to the secretaries of all departments, heads of government offices and deputy commissioners. Along with this, a copy of UIDAI has also been sent to all of them. All of them have been asked to inform all their subordinates about this and comply with it.
UIDAI has stated that Aadhaar is primarily a proof of identity of a person and not of date of birth. The date of birth is recorded by a person at the time of Aadhaar enrolment or update based on the relevant document submitted.
In this sequence, if there is no valid document then it is also recorded on the basis of declared or estimated date of birth.
Let us tell you that the most important valid document for date of birth is the birth certificate issued by the Municipal Corporation or other local body. Sometimes Aadhaar is also presented as proof of this, but it is not valid.
