AADHAAR Update: Now there will be no need to go to the Aadhaar center again and again to get the Aadhaar card updated. The Unique Identification Authority of India is preparing to bring a new QR code based mobile app, through which the Aadhaar card can be updated from home. Changes in address, mobile number, name and date of birth can be made through the app.
It is being told that the authority has developed a new app based on QR code. Apart from this, about 2,000 out of one lakh Aadhar machines have been linked to the new app and tool. Now soon, apart from giving fingerprint and iris from home, all other work will be done through the app. This facility can be started by November 2025.
Other documents will also be linked to the system
Through new technology, this system will obtain address and other information from databases like birth certificate, matriculation certificate, driving license, passport, PAN, PDS and MNREGA. This will not only make document verification easier, but will also help in preventing the use of fake documents. It is being told that preparations are also underway to link electricity bills to this system.
There is no need to provide photocopies
Along with this, the new QR code based app will allow sending complete or summary information of Aadhaar from mobile to mobile or app to app. It will be used for many purposes. For example, this app can be used for verification while staying in hotels, getting a mobile SIM or during train travel. People will not need to give a photocopy of Aadhaar for this.
Details will not be shared without permission
The new app is being considered important to prevent misuse of Aadhaar. This app will allow the Aadhaar holder maximum control over his data and his Aadhaar details can be shared only with his consent. It can also be used by sub-registrar and registrar at the time of property registration.
Children’s details will also be updated
Apart from this, the authority is in talks with CBSE and other education boards for updating the biometrics of children . It is necessary to update the biometric data of children at the age of five to seven years and then at the age of 15 to 17 years. For this, the authority has prepared a special plan so that the update of about 18 crore children can be completed.
