Baal Aadhaar Card: Aadhaar card is required for child’s school admission, health services and investment related schemes. Baal Aadhaar card is issued by the Government of India for children below 5 years of age. It is a unique 12 digit identification number, which is linked to the Aadhaar of the child’s mother or father.
What is Baal Aadhaar?
Baal Aadhaar Card is an Aadhaar document issued for children below the age of 5 years. Biometric information (fingerprints and eye scans) is not taken from children of this age, as this data is not completely stable. Only the child’s photo, name, date of birth and parental information are recorded in the card.
Where is Baal Aadhaar made?
You can get a child Aadhaar by visiting any authorized Aadhaar service center. Many government and private hospitals also provide Aadhaar enrollment facility at the time of birth, where birth certificate and Aadhaar are made together.
Which documents will be required?
Some specific documents are required to get a Baal Aadhaar:
- Child’s birth certificate issued from the hospital or obtained from the Municipal Corporation.
- Aadhaar card of either of the mother or father.
- Mother or Father’s mobile number for linking and updates with Aadhaar.
What is the application process?
- Go to the nearest Aadhaar centre with the child and documents.
- Fill in the child’s information in the enrollment form given there.
- Attach photocopies of all documents and give them to the employee.
- A photograph of the child will be taken at the centre itself.
After the process is completed, an enrollment slip will be given which contains the enrollment number. With this, you can check the status online.
In how many days is Baal Aadhaar made?
After the completion of the enrollment process, the child Aadhaar card is sent to your registered address by post within 60 to 90 days. The notification of the arrival of the Aadhaar number is also sent to your mobile number. You can also download it from the UIDAI website.
What is the fee for making Bal Aadhaar?
Baal Aadhaar is completely free for children below 5 years of age. There is no charge for any enrolment or process.
When the child turns 5 years old, he will have to go to the Aadhaar center again for biometric update so that his fingerprints and eye prints can be updated. This update is also completely free.
