Bank Account: Close idle bank accounts soon! Follow this easy process

    Bank Account Tips: Before closing an idle account, withdraw all the money deposited in it. Maintain zero balance in the account. If your account is linked to any loan account then get it delinked.

    How to Close Bank Account: Nowadays, there would hardly be any person in the country who does not have a bank account. Many times people open bank accounts while working and forget to close that account after changing jobs.

    In such a situation, in case there is no salary credit for a long time, the salary account is converted into a normal savings account. In such a situation, if minimum balance is not maintained on the bank account, penalty starts being imposed. Due to this your credit score is affected. Get such accounts closed as soon as possible. Let us know how the bank account can be closed.

    Before closing an idle account, withdraw all the money deposited in it. Maintain zero balance in the account. For this work you can take help of ATM or net banking.

    Before closing the account, get all your automatic debits delinked. If your account is linked to a loan account, then delink it and deposit the new account number in the loan account.

    Let us tell you that after 14 days of opening the account, you will have to pay some kind of fee for closing it within 1 year. You will not have to pay any kind of closure fee for closing the account for more than 1 year.

    To close the account, first go to your bank branch. Fill and submit the account closing form here. Along with this, deposit all the things like check book, credit and debit cards etc. issued on the account and close the account.
