Why will banks remain closed on 21 April?
Banks are going to remain closed in Tripura on Monday, 21 April due to local festival. However, banks will remain open in all other states except Tripura. Despite the bank branches being closed, net banking, mobile banking, UPI and ATM services will continue. Customers can send money online, pay bills and do other digital banking work.
Garia Puja
Garia Puja is a traditional and famous festival of Tripura state, which is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm especially by the tribal community. This puja is performed every year in the month of Baishakh and is dedicated to Goddess Garia, who is considered the goddess of prosperity, harvest and happiness. Things like bamboo, flowers, chicken and liquor are offered in the puja.

April 21 (Monday) – Banks will remain closed in Tripura. Garia Puja, a tribal festival, will be celebrated on this day.
April 29 (Tuesday) – Banks will remain closed in Himachal Pradesh as Lord Parshuram Jayanti will be celebrated on this day.
April 30 (Wednesday) – Banks will remain closed in Karnataka as Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya will be celebrated on this day.
