Many types of questions on linking

Many questions were raised regarding this linking. The Health Ministry issued a statement on this in the month of April. According to the Health Ministry, the government has no wrong intention behind linking the identity card (ID) of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) beneficiaries with the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) number.

    what did the ministry say

The ministry had then said- A lot of misinformation is being spread about the recent move to link CGHS records with ABHA numbers. This is a unique health ID based on ‘Aadhaar’. The ministry said that ABHA was required because ‘Aadhaar’ details cannot be saved on systems without implementing Aadhaar vault and other security systems.

The Health Ministry had said that this initiative will help CGHS beneficiaries access their health records on their mobile phones, thereby saving money spent on frequent check-ups. According to the ministry, ABHA is being implemented at every location where health records are being created.

There is no link to monetary or fiscal planning

According to the ministry, it is not linked to any monetary or fiscal scheme of the government. It is being launched in government health programs like Reproductive and Child Health (RCH), Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD), Nikshay, U-WIN (Universal-Immunization), e-Sanjeevani (Tele-Consultation), PMJAY, Poshan (Anganwadi). It can be used in Chardham Yatra, Maha-Kumbh, medical tests for central services, medical tests for driving license etc.
