Dearness Allowance Hike news: Central employees and pensioners are going to get great news on August 1.

Actually, on this day, the Labor Bureau will release the data of CPI-IW (Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers) for June 2025, which directly determines the rate of Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief. Looking at the increase in CPI-IW of the last 3 months, it is possible that a 3% increase in DA will be implemented from July 2025. With this, DA will increase from 55% to 58%.

HS Tiwari, General Secretary of the All India Accounts Committee, said that the All India CPI-IW for May 2025 was 144.0, which is 0.5 points higher than April. Positive trends have also been seen in both March and April. The increase of 3 consecutive months has almost decided the DA hike. If it remains at 144 in June, then a 3 percent increase in dearness allowance will be implemented from July. However, the announcement of this increase is possible in the festive season of October.

Currently DA = 55%

Potential new DA = 58%

How much will be the difference in salary?

Suppose the basic salary of a central government employee is Rs 30,000 per month. At the current rate of 55%, he is getting DA of Rs 16,500 per month. When it increases to 58%, the DA will become Rs 17,400 per month. That means the employee will get a benefit of Rs 900 per month, that is, a benefit of Rs 10,800 annually.
