BSNL has decided to shut down one of its special services. The government telecom company will replace it with a new AI-based system. The company has decided to move towards AI after receiving requests from users.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has decided to shut down Personalized Ringback Tone (PRBT). It will be replaced with an AI-based service after receiving Request for Proposal (RFP) from enterprise customers.
This decision of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited will affect the Closed User Group (CUG) subscribers. Apart from this, users taking bulk connections will also be affected by this decision of the public sector firm. Last month, BSNL discontinued its PRBT service. Now the company will not offer this service to the users with any recharge. According to the report of ET Telecom, after the service was discontinued, many queries related to this came to the customer service center of the company.
AI based platform will replace
BSNL is preparing to replace its PRBT service with an AI based platform. For this, the company has prepared to bring an ad-funded model, which will create a new revenue system for the company. According to ET Telecom’s report, the company’s chairman A Robert Ravi said that we are converting BSNL’s PRBT service into a customer driven cloud native or AI driven platform. In this, personalized service will be offered to the users. It will be integrated through OTT apps.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited offers PRBT service to its users with long-term plans and recharges. Apart from this, the company will soon complete the work of rolling out 4G service across India. For this, work is being done to install 1 lakh new 4G mobile towers. Out of these, more than 80 thousand towers have been installed. Apart from this, the company will also prepare for 5G service from June this year.
