Bullet Train Update: The people of the country are waiting for the bullet train. When will it start running, how much work has been completed, all such questions are coming in the minds of the people.
So now the wait is about to end. According to the central government, this project is expected to be ready by December 2029. After this, the bullet train will start running on the track.
The central government said that the Gujarat leg of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train project will be completed by December 2027. This information was given by the Railway Ministry in a written reply in the Lok Sabha. This information has been given after the statement of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, in which he had said that this corridor could start by 2028. However, the project has been delayed due to land acquisition and environmental clearance.
The Railway Ministry said that this project is quite challenging. The final timeline will be decided only after the completion of works like civil works, track laying, signalling, electricity and supply of train sets. So far, Rs 78,839 crore has been spent. Out of 28 tender packages, two are still pending.
The main reason for the
delay in the project is the obstacles in land acquisition and forest clearance in Maharashtra. Along with this, some work is also lagging in the Gujarat part. Due to which the total cost has increased significantly.
