What did the Finance Ministry say?
According to a report in Economic Times, the Finance Ministry has clarified that the payment will be treated as advance disbursement. The ministry said – The salary/pension so distributed will be treated as advance payment and will be subject to adjustment after determination of full month’s salary/wages/pension of each employee/pensioner.
Gift to the employees of Maharashtra
Let us tell you that in the year 2025, Ganpati Utsav or Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated on 27th August. In view of this, the government had approved to pay the salary of August 2025 of all the central government employees in Maharashtra before Ganesh Chaturthi. In such a situation, the central employees of Maharashtra have received the salary for the month of August. These employees include defense, postal and telecommunications.
Similarly, according to the Reserve Bank of India holiday calendar, Onam will be celebrated on September 4 and 5 in 2025. In view of the Onam festival, the government has decided to release the salary/wages/pension of all central government employees in the state of Kerala. Employees in this state have been given a gift.
Gift to Kerala government employees
Recently, the Kerala government has approved another installment of dearness allowance (DA) for state employees and teachers and dearness relief (DR) for pensioners. The revised rates will be effective from the salary and pension payable on September 1. He said that this will also benefit the employees covered under the University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and medical services. The increase in DA and DR is estimated to increase the annual expenditure of the state by about Rs 2000 crore.
