Cyber ​​Crime Complaint: In today’s digital age, mobile phones and the internet have become as essential as the dangers they pose. Whether it’s fake calls, online shopping fraud, or even money being stolen from banks or UPI, cybercrime has become a daily problem for ordinary people. Sadly, many people, even after being scammed, don’t know where or how to file a complaint. To address this confusion, the government has created a clear and simple system.

Complaints are filed both online and offline.

Today, any citizen can file a cybercrime complaint through an online portal, helpline, or local police. Furthermore, complainants can track the progress made on their complaint.

How to File a Complaint Online

The Government of India’s National Cyber ​​Crime Reporting Portal (www.cybercrime.gov.in) is an official online platform. You can file complaints about online fraud, hacking, cyberbullying, phishing, or social media-related crimes here.

Open the Portal: Visit the National Cyber ​​Crime Reporting Portal at www.cybercrime.gov.in.

Select a Section: Go to the “Report other cybercrimes” section.

File: Click on the “File a Complaint” option.

Register Mobile: Register your mobile number and fill in other relevant details related to the crime.

Specify State/UT: Enter the name of the state or Union Territory (UT) where the incident occurred.

Register and Track: Click “Register and Track” to complete the filing process. You will receive a confirmation once the complaint is registered.

After submitting, you will receive an Acknowledgement Number, which you can use to track the status later.

Note: Fill in the complaint form with complete details of the incident and upload proofs like credit card receipt, bank statement, brochure/pamphlet, online money transfer receipt, email copy, webpage URL, video, images, screenshots.
