According to Delhi Police and security agencies, explosives were planted in the car at the Red Fort. The agencies suspect a suicide attack. The car that exploded was purchased by Tariq from Pulwama. He has also been detained. Intelligence agencies suspect that Dr. Umar Mohammed was the passenger in the i-20 car.

According to sources, the investigation so far has revealed links to the Faridabad terrorist module. Police will conduct a DNA test on the deceased passenger in the car. This will confirm whether Dr. Umar Mohammed was the actual passenger in the car. Dr. Umar Mohammed, a terrorist from the Faridabad module, was absconding.
Meanwhile, police have taken major action at the home of accused Dr. Umar. Police have detained Umar’s two brothers and his mother from Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. Umar is still untraceable.

Agencies suspect that, just as the Delhi Police and Haryana Police exposed the terrorist module on Monday, multiple groups within the same module are active. Members of one group are unaware of the other. Agencies suspect that as soon as the police uncovered one module, another module may have carried out the blast.

Sources suggest that the Pakistani terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) is suspected to be behind the Delhi Red Fort car blast. Delhi Police has registered an FIR under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Delhi Police conducted an overnight search operation in Paharganj, Daryaganj, and nearby hotels. The Delhi Police Special Cell conducted CCTV mapping of the route of the I-20 car, including its origin in Delhi and its journey to the Red Fort.

The Delhi Police Special Cell has requested information from the Faridabad Crime Branch and the J&K Police regarding the explosives recovered in Faridabad. The first FSL report will be released by 12 noon today. The Red Fort has been closed to the public until further orders from the Delhi Police.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah will hold an important meeting on the internal security situation in the country following the Delhi car bombings. The meeting will be attended by the Delhi Police Commissioner, the IB chief, the NIA chief, and the RAW chief.

This meeting will take place at 11 am at the Home Ministry’s Kartavya Bhawan.
