The Government of India has recently launched a new service called e-Zero FIR. It aims to strengthen cyber security and speed up the investigation of major cyber frauds or scams.

The system is currently being launched as a pilot project in Delhi and under it, complaints of online fraud of more than Rs 10 lakh will be automatically converted into FIRs. With this initiative, the government aims to take immediate action against cyber criminals and save time in investigation.

Complaints of cyber financial frauds of more than Rs 10 lakh will now automatically be converted into FIRs. This facility will be applicable to complaints made on 1930 helpline or National Cyber ​​Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP). This new system has been launched in the name of e-Zero FIR, which is currently being started as a pilot project in Delhi. Amit Shah said that this will speed up investigation and action and criminals will be caught quickly. In the coming time, this system will be implemented across the country. The Home Minister wrote in his ex-post that the Modi government is working fast towards a cyber safe India. This new system will play an important role in stopping cyber criminals.

About e-Zero FIR:

An official said that fraud complaints of more than Rs 10 lakh registered with NCRP and 1930 will now automatically be converted into Zero FIR. This FIR will be registered in the e-Crime Police Station of Delhi and then sent to the Cyber ​​Police Station of the concerned area. The complainant will have to go to the concerned Cyber ​​Police Station within three days and convert the Zero FIR into a regular FIR. In this process, I4C (Indian Cyber ​​Crime Coordination Centre), Delhi Police’s e-FIR system, and NCRB’s Crime and Criminal Tracking Network have been interconnected.

This initiative has been launched under Section 173(1) and 1(ii) of the Indian Civil Security Code. Delhi Police and I4C have jointly created this new system so that the affected person can get his money back quickly and the criminals can be punished severely.
