Good news for farmers! Government is giving subsidy up to 40%, know how to avail the benefits

The central and state governments are making various efforts to promote several crops and vegetables. Farmers are being given subsidy of up to 40 percent on several crops, so that production increases and farmers get profit.

Although many farmers are taking advantage of these schemes, some are still deprived, due to which the crops are not being produced in full.

Mukesh Gehlot, Assistant Director of Horticulture, Agriculture Department, said that the central government is providing subsidy to farmers on crops and vegetables. Under the National Animal Oil Mission, a scheme has been implemented to promote groundnut and mustard, under which if farmers set up a 10 tonne oil processing unit, they get a subsidy of Rs 9.90 lakh.

Efforts are being made to promote cotton cultivation in Bikaner district. Under Shri Anna Yojana, the state government is making special efforts to promote coarse grain cultivation. The state government is including moth under Panch Gaurav, which will promote moth cultivation.

Under the scheme, work is being done to promote date palm among advanced horticultural crops. Under National Horticulture, 40 percent subsidy of Rs 75 thousand will be given on Amla, Ber, Papaya crops. Farmers will get 40 percent subsidy of Rs 1 lakh 25 thousand on common crops like orange, kinnu, lemon, pomegranate. 40 percent subsidy of Rs 2 lakh is given on planting high density orchards.

Farmers can also take advantage of the Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance. A premium of 2 percent will have to be paid on Kharif crops and 1.5 percent on Rabi crops. A premium of 5 percent will have to be paid to insure advanced horticulture and commercial crops. Farmers can also take advantage of the National Natural Farming Mission. 120 clusters have been selected in Bikaner district, in which 75 farmers will be given the benefit of natural farming.

Under Hi-Tech Horticulture, 30 farmers from Bikaner have been selected in the model cluster and are being given the benefit of the polyhouse scheme. Thus, farmers are being benefited through comprehensive schemes of the Central and State Governments.
