Good News! Jan Dhan account holders can take advantage of ₹ 10000 even without balance, know how

    Under Jan Dhan Yojana, even if there is no balance in your account, the facility of overdraft up to Rs 10,000 will be available. This facility is like a short term loan.

    If you also have a Jan Dhan account, then this news is of great use to you. Apart from this, many facilities are also available in the Jan Dhan Yojana account. Let us tell you that the Central Government opens a zero balance savings account under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY Pradhanmantri Jan Dhan Yojna). In this, many other benefits including accident insurance, overdraft facility, check book are also available.

    Under Jan Dhan Yojana, even if there is no balance in your account, the facility of overdraft up to Rs 10,000 will be available. This facility is like a short term loan. Earlier this amount used to be 5 thousand rupees. The government has now increased it to 10 thousand.

    Here is the rule

    The maximum age limit for overdraft facility in this account is 65 years. Your Jan Dhan account should be at least 6 months old to avail the overdraft facility. If not, then only overdraft of up to Rs 2,000 is available.

    What is Jan Dhan Account?

    Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) is the most ambitious financial program that ensures access to banking/savings and deposit accounts, remittances, loans, insurance, pension. This account can be opened at any bank branch or Business Correspondent (Bank Mitra) outlet. PMJDY accounts are being opened with zero balance.

    How to open account?

    Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, the account is opened more in public sector banks. But, if you want, you can also open your Jan Dhan account in a private bank. If you have any other savings account then you can also convert it to Jan Dhan account. Any citizen residing in India, whose age is 10 years or more, can open a Jan Dhan account.
