Heavy rain in many areas of Assam
Heavy rains occurred in Guwahati, Assam on Tuesday morning. Due to heavy rains, many areas were waterlogged. People faced a lot of trouble in movement due to waterlogging on the roads. Due to rain for two-three hours, all the major roads of the city were filled with water up to the knees.
Many areas including Zoo Road, RG Barua Road, GS Road, Nabin Nagar, Anil Nagar, Guwahati Club, Lachit Nagar, Chandmari, Panjbari, Jorabat, Tarun Nagar were flooded. During this time, strong winds also blew with thunder and lightning in many areas. According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds blew at a speed of about 50 to 60 kilometers per hour. The Meteorological Department estimates that along with Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya may also receive heavy rains within the next 24 hours.
How is the weather system?
According to the Meteorological Department, a cyclonic circulation is formed over north-west Bihar. A north-south trough is formed from the cyclonic circulation to the Gulf of Mannar. Due to the effect of these systems, moderate to heavy rains with thunder, lightning and strong winds are likely in Northeast India for the next 7 days. The Meteorological Department estimates that during this period, the wind can blow at a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour to 60 km per hour.
Where will it rain in the northeastern states
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh during April 22-27.
- Heavy rains may also occur in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on 23 and 25 April.
- There is a possibility of strong winds along with rain in Assam and Meghalaya. The wind speed can be up to 50 to 60 km per hour.
- There is a possibility of thundershowers in Karnataka. Strong winds can also be seen here.
Possibility of rain and thunder in Andhra Pradesh
The weather has deteriorated in Andhra Pradesh as well. Thunderstorms have been predicted in some parts of the state for three days from Tuesday. The Meteorological Department said that thunderstorms are predicted in different parts of North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. The Meteorological Department has forecast the weather for Tuesday and Wednesday and said, “Strong winds with a speed of 30 to 40 kmph are expected in different parts of NCAP, Yanam, SCAP and Rayalaseema. The maximum temperature may increase by two to three degrees Celsius by Wednesday.”
