Heavy Rain Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi, Gurgaon and Faridabad on Monday, June 23. The alert warns of heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds.
According to the IMD forecast, Delhi is expected to receive light to moderate rain throughout the day, with wind speeds likely to reach 30-40 kmph. The IMD said in its weekly weather bulletin, “During the evening – light to moderate rain, thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds (30-40 kmph).” The department has expected similar conditions to persist during the night as well.
It will rain in Delhi throughout the day
The Meteorological Department has predicted similar conditions for the next two days (24 and 25 June). The forecast for Tuesday says that rain will continue in many parts of Delhi. The IMD said, “Light to moderate rain, thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds will occur during the morning. This pattern may be repeated in the morning, afternoon, evening and night as well.

A yellow alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department in Delhi’s neighboring cities Gurgaon and Faridabad. Heavy rains are expected in these areas of Delhi NCR, along with the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning throughout the day. Meanwhile, the IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in northwest India, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Konkan and Goa regions till June 26. At the same time, extremely heavy rains are expected in Madhya Pradesh on June 23 and 24.
The Meteorological Department has said that monsoon may reach Delhi and its surrounding areas by June 24.
