According to the department, there is a possibility of heavy rains with strong winds and thunderstorms at many places in the next few days. Let us know in which areas there is a possibility of rain-
North-West India
A strong monsoon system will remain active in many states of North-West India between 5th and 11th September. Heavy rain warning has been issued at many places in Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Haryana. During this period, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds along with lightning. Moderate rain may occur in some districts.
Eastern and Central India
During this time, the effect of monsoon will be seen in eastern and central India as well. Heavy rain is expected in many areas of Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha. Along with light rain, strong winds and thunderstorms can also be seen at some places.
West India
The Meteorological Department has predicted intermittent heavy rains in Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat-Saurashtra and Konkan for the next 7 days. There is a possibility of heavy rains with strong winds in these areas.
South India
A strong monsoon system has also become active in the states of South India. Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Yanam, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Lakshadweep may receive good rainfall. Moderate rainfall is also expected in some districts.
North-East India
There is also an alert of heavy rain in the north-eastern states like Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura and Nagaland for the next 7 days. Light rain may also occur in many districts.
