The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Delhi-NCR, warning of rain and strong winds with thunder in the next few hours. In the alert issued at 4 pm on Tuesday, winds at a speed of 30 to 50 km / h and light rain with thunder have been predicted in many parts of the country.
Stormy weather will affect many areas of the country
According to the IMD, stormy weather may affect many areas across the country. This is expected to bring rain in Delhi, while many states including Assam, Meghalaya and parts of the Western Ghats may witness strong winds and thunderstorms. The IMD has predicted heavy rain at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya, while extremely heavy rain is likely in some areas. Similarly, heavy rains are also expected in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
There may be heavy rain in the areas adjacent to Delhi
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be intense rain in areas near the capital. It has been warned that waterlogging and flooding of roads may occur in low-lying areas of the city and power cuts may also occur. Those traveling in the evening may have to face rain. Along with this, IMD has also warned of thunderstorms with strong winds in neighboring states like Rajasthan, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. It has been told that the wind speed can reach 50-60 km/h in some areas. Similarly, there is a possibility of hailstorm in Telangana.
