PAN card (Permanent Account Number) has become mandatory in almost every financial transaction today. Whether opening a bank account, filing income tax returns or any big investment process, it is required everywhere. Over time, the card may become old, damaged or defective, or personal information may have to be updated. In such a situation, it becomes necessary to renew or replace the PAN card. The good thing is that now this process has become completely online and very easy.

PAN card renewal is possible only through these two websites

To renew a PAN card, first of all it is necessary to go to the government authorized portal, NSDL or UTIITSL. These two platforms provide all the services including new application, duplicate card, update and renewal. After logging in to the correct portal, you have to choose the appropriate form. Form 49A has to be filled for Indian citizens and Form 49AA for foreign citizens. While filling the form, enter the name, date of birth, address and other details carefully, because even a small mistake can stall the application.

    Upload the correct documents only

To renew a PAN card, it is necessary to submit proof of identity and address. Any one of the documents used for identification can be Aadhar card, voter ID or passport. Electricity bill, bank statement or other valid documents can be submitted as proof of address. While scanning the document, make sure that the image is clear and readable, as blurred or incomplete documents can delay the application process.

You can pay the fees online only

After uploading the documents, the fee has to be paid online. The fee is around ₹110 for applications with an address in India. The payment can be made easily through net banking, debit card or credit card. Once the payment is complete, you will get a receipt and tracking number, through which you can check the status of your application online.

You will get the renewed PAN card by post

After all the details and documents are found to be correct, the new or renewed PAN card is sent to your address by post. Usually this process is completed in a few weeks. The delivery status can also be checked through the postal tracking number, which gives you an idea of when the card will arrive. Let us tell you that the online PAN card renewal process is not only fast but also transparent. Now it is possible to get a new PAN card from home in a few minutes without standing in long queues or visiting the office.
