If you use an ICICI Bank credit card and are accustomed to the benefits it offers on movie tickets, travel, or digital payments, this news is extremely important for you. Starting February 1, 2026, ICICI Bank is going to make major changes to its credit card rules. Under these changes, some popular features will be completely discontinued, while new conditions and extra charges will be imposed on others. The bank says that the purpose of these amendments is to realign the rewards structure, but it could have a direct impact on the pockets of millions of cardholders.

BookMyShow movie benefits discontinued

ICICI Bank has decided to end the free movie ticket benefit offered on some of its cards. Effective February 1st, the complimentary movie benefit offered through BookMyShow on the ICICI Bank Instant Platinum Chip Credit Card and ICICI Bank Instant Platinum Credit Card will be discontinued. Charges on online gaming and wallet loading

ICICI Bank has also announced new charges for certain transactions, effective January 15, 2026. Payments made on online gaming platforms like Dream11, MPL, Junglee Games, and Rummy Culture will now incur a 2% fee. Additionally, third-party wallets like Amazon Pay, Paytm, and MobiKwik will incur a 1% charge for transactions of ₹5,000 or more.

Transport transactions will also become expensive

Certain large payments related to transport will also be subject to additional charges. If a transaction exceeds ₹50,000 in the transport merchant category, an additional 1% fee will be charged.
