Rain Alert: The weather has changed in many parts of the country. Rains in South Indian states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh have given relief to people from the scorching heat.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and strong winds in these states for the next 5 days.
Chances of rain in the Northeast
Rain is also active in Northeast India. Heavy rain is expected in Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya and Gangetic West Bengal on 17 April. Strong winds can blow at a speed of 50-60 km per hour in these areas. At the same time, an alert of continuous rain has been issued in Arunachal Pradesh from 20 to 22 April.
Talking about North India, the weather here has not given any relief so far.
The temperature is constantly rising in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The maximum temperature in Delhi-NCR is expected to be around 40 degrees Celsius and the minimum around 25 degrees Celsius on Thursday. There is no hope of relief from the heat here till April 18, although light clouds may remain.
There is a possibility of rain in some parts of UP
There may be light rain in some districts of Uttar Pradesh today. There is a possibility of drizzle especially in eastern districts like Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Chandauli and Jaunpur. The weather may also remain a little mild in West UP. A heat wave alert has been issued in the western and eastern parts of Rajasthan between 17 and 19 April. At the same time, there may be dust storms and light rain in some parts of eastern Rajasthan.
