Weather Update : People facing severe heat in Madhya Pradesh can now expect relief, as the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of rain and hailstorm in many parts of the state.

After this alert, there is a possibility of some drop in temperature in the state, which may provide relief from the heat.

In the last 24 hours, many districts of Bhopal, Sagar, Jabalpur, and Shahdol divisions have received heavy rains, while districts like Damoh, Katni, Jabalpur, Anuppur and Balaghat also witnessed hailstorms along with rain. Apart from this, strong winds were also experienced at many places.

Possibility of rain in these districts (MP Weather)

According to the Meteorological Department, the rain is likely to continue in Madhya Pradesh for the next four days i.e. till May 2. In the coming days, there is a possibility of hailstorm along with rain in districts like Anuppur, Dindori, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat and Pandhurna.

At the same time, orange alert has also been issued in some areas of the state, which include Narmadapuram, Betul, Shahdol, Umaria and Jabalpur. There is a possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds along with rain in these areas, whose speed can be up to 50 kilometers per hour.

The temperature of many districts reached 42 degrees

Here, the effect of heat can be seen more in Ujjain and Gwalior-Chambal division, and the mercury can remain very high here. At the same time, the temperature in the cities of Bhopal and Indore division is also likely to remain around 42 degrees. On Sunday, Ujjain was the hottest among the five major cities of the state, where the mercury reached 42 degrees.

Apart from this, Indore recorded 41.4 degrees, Bhopal 41.2 degrees and Jabalpur 38.6 degrees. Ratlam district was the hottest on Monday, where the temperature reached 44 degrees. Apart from this, Dhar, Narsinghpur, Khandwa, Guna, Khargone, Ujjain and Tikamgarh also recorded temperatures up to 42 degrees.
